WASTED 5 HOURS OF MY LIFE ....THE CUPS HAVEN'T BEEN RELOCATED IN MONTHS...CART PATHS ARE VERY DANGEROUS ... NEVER GOING BACK !!!

No matter how many ownerships over the years, this course consistently under delivers. Golfed yesterday....phantom price increase change, no scorecard in the cart, no sand bottles for divots, and no drinking water available at the water stations. During the entire round, my golf partner and I saw 4 vehicles parked at the course and 6 other golfers playing.....the entire 4 hour round. For the price they charged, I could have played The Bandit or Olympia Hills...quality courses that care about their facility. Lakeside wants players but doesn't do anything with their course to attract them. Don't waste your time....go play elsewhere.

Way over priced for condition of course. It was neglected and would not recommend it to any respectable golfer!!!!!

I enjoy playing here its always very friendly personnel and never a conflict with other golfers!!!

It is a shame to call this place a golf course. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, everything full of weeds over 10 inches long. Golf carts dirty. Horrible experience, would not play again even it it is free. This place should close until they decide to take this abandoned lot and make it a golf course.

Conditions have steadily declined over the years to the point where the course has almost returned to nature.

i don't know to describe how bad this course is, there are WEEDS growing in the fairways and WEEDS up to 10 inchs long off the fairway. I don't think they have mowed in a couple of weeks.Please beware!

We first looked at this course in August 2015 and were dismayed by its poor condition. Folks told us it had improved - how, I don't know. To list just a few things: terrible (or no) signage, very poor drainage on the fairways, greens were in bad shape, cart paths were in very poor shape (to the point of being dangerous), and carts are old and slow. We actually watched some residents in the area, in their own carts, jump on and off the course. Conditions were so bad that we finally gave up on the 13th hole and called it quits. Will not play there again.

Booked a Hot Deal through GolfNow and paid in full. Got to pro shop 10 minutes early and they didn't have any carts available. Also, the lady checking us in, although very friendly, was very unorganized. At one point she even misplaced her "bosses" keys to his personal cart and slowed down our round even more. Even though we paid in full as was stated on our GolfNow reservation, we were told we had to pay again by the same woman. It was only $10 dollars a person so I obliged hoping to speed up the process. We had a 1:00 p.m. tee time; didn't tee off until 1:30 and had to go to the 11th hole because they were overbooked which wasn't a problem. After we made the turn at 18 we noticed a scramble tournament was starting in the middle of our game which we also did not mind. We did mind however when we were forced to skip two more holes and end our round early because of how slow the scramble teams were playing. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience and I don't think I'll be returning.

I've played Lakeside numerous times over the last 6 months. This is the best shape I've seen. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

A lot of pot holes in the fairway. My back has been hurting because the pot hole wasn't marked with poles and the cart driver was looking for her golf ball.

It appears that there are no funds to care for the course maintenance.

what is really sad is, the sand bunkers are covered in grass!

I've been here a few times, mostly when I'm in Canyon lake visiting family. They've been consistent with having a happy and helpful staff. The bartender Diane is probably the best part of the club house. She's very sweet and a great conversationalist. The clubhouse its self seems to be old and outdated but I suppose it's functional. The course has been a little bit better as of late. Last year at this time, you couldn't pay me to golf here but now, they have the crab grass under control. I do wish they had a cart girl still though. I loved having my drink brought to me and able to take it in the coolers that they would provide but they no longer do that. I would recommend this course to anyone that's a beginner, intermediate or just want to go for fun.

They have change up the course and it was a little hard to follow.

Great value for a beginner intermediate or to just sharpen certain skills driving short game greens were okay

Hey for a beginner or intermediate you can't beat the price

The entire course is in need of repair and greens keeping.
The fairways are 80% grassless, cracked hard pan or mud from a faulty sprinkler...the wildlife and scenery was great, but I wanted to play golf not feel as if I were on safari!
The carts were nice Yamaha's (gas) they are needed in the Texas hill country and also to try and fallow what may have been cart path at some place in time.
The tee boxes all needed attention all but 3-4 boxes were grassless between the markers. (Markers need to be moved in a rotation as to keep grass growing)
The bunkers...well the places where bunkers should be were water saturated or looked like a weed farms.
The greens were more of the same....one fast as asphalt the next slow as molasses...some dead areas, crab grass and other growth will challenge the inner putter in anyone.
One good thing, the beer at the 19th hole is very cold and the wait staff is very helpful and courteous.
Could be one of the nicer Hill Country courses with a little TLC and some much needed repairs.

And that's a good thing!!! Wife wanted to get out for her first round in years and we couldn't have picked a better course. No pressure on the course, staff was fantastic and the bar at the end of the round was very relaxing. Course is not in the best condition but you're getting more the your monies worth!

I loved this course. I read reviews of this course before I went to play it. I am glad I decided to go anyway. It is a nice layout and yes there were a couple of greens that maybe need a little more attention, overall it was in good shape. I think the other reviewers have to remember this is summer in Texas and public course. You can't expect Augusta type conditions and you shouldn't. I highly recommend this as go to course for a quick round of golf. If you are with an hour or so drive of this course you should play it. Also, enjoyed a great burger and fries at the 19th hole.
