DO NOT PLAY RHCC
I recently traveled to RHCC in hopes of playing an enjoyable round of golf on a well maintained course with my father for his Christmas present. We were greeted by a young man who informed me my $50 gift certificate, that expired a few days before, was as good as trash. At that point, we should have driven to another course but we had driven far and wanted to play so I forked over another $110 for range balls and two green fees ($160 total cost) and we hit the course. Our first cart died on the way back from the range (which was little more than a goat track) and our second cart died after a very unimpressive first 4 holes. All in all we went through three carts playing through 18 holes of mud balls, tight lights, hard greens, and disappointment. Even if the course was in good enough shape to cost the amount of money I spent there, the design was unimaginative and dull. This was perhaps the most dissatisfying round of golf I have ever played. So much so that I came to the internet to write this paragraph to convince you not to play there. Unless you live two minutes from the course, you will do yourself a service by not playing River Hills County Club.
OK
GREENS WERE AWESOME. REST OF COURSE NEEDED TO BE MOWED. HAD A FIVESOME IN FRONT OF US FOR NINE HOLES EXTREMELY SLOW UNTIL THEY FINALLT LET US THROUGH.
Typical
Typical low level country club that thinks snagging some daily fee money is a good idea. They forgot to inform anyone that you have a choice to where you spend your hard earned money and at least smile and act like you care when you take it.
Pretty Good
I like this course. I don't really like it. Foremost, it's short. The most positive part was the big greens in really good condition. The worst part was the in-course OB. Really?? The fairways were in decent shape but turned to dirt/weeds pretty quickly once you got off of them. I'd play there again, but not friends inviting me or a good discount from standard greens fees.
Overpriced and well under standard
Was very disappointed with this place....May have been a gem in the 80s.....but looks like a place that has not evolved with the times. I know Corpus is short on courses but 54.00 green fees after 2 in July was ridiculous after seeing the course....feel bad for the members....pool is empty and the club bar and restaurant redefine cheesy. The place is nothing more than a decent muni.....40 green fees on weekends 30 during week and an after 2 twilight fee of 20 is about what this courses value should be priced.
Nice views from tee boxes, rough between fairways need more grass
This is a nice course with tree lined fairways that mixed elevated changes and with doglegs. Yardage from tee boxes and fairways seemed off. No 15 par 3 showed 150yr from blue, but it played to about 115. Greens were firm, green and moderate speed.
Winter time, but Good
Nice Course. Small greens. Tree line layout. Only 2 water holes.
Nice fast greens
Good pace for a good play.need to stay in the fairway or is trouble.greens are fast.
One of the better courses in cc area
Greens are probably the best in the cc area no dead spots always cut and roll true. A dead spot here and there on fairways but that's part of south Texas.
course condition about the same as a muni not a country club
Greens in great shape. Fairways ok but need attention. Carts and cart paths in bad shape. No signing for the pro shop and
Hard to distinguish from other buildings. Also difficult to figure out where tee boxes are for holes on back nine where several seem to be close together.
Fun course to play
went out early before all the locals, good value for the discounted price
This course has fast greens that are hard to read.
Had a great time, already got a tee time for next week .
it was a great deal!
The greens were great, had a great time . I would do it again!
Challenging holes
Very well maintained course. Well worth the money to play. Staff was fantastic.
