Rusted Rail Golf Club
About
Rusted Rail Golf Course, located about half hour or so southeast of Dallas, has a new name and a new look. Formerly known as Creekview Golf Course, the facility was purchased in July 2017, then renamed and renovated. Reopened in August 2018, Rusted Rail unveiled what is essentially a new golf course with renovations on its 36 bunkers, new Champion Bermuda greens, a new irrigation system and vastly improved conditions, including new cart paths and restroom facilities. Designed by Dick Phelps in 1995, the course can play from around 5,800 yards to more than 7,200 yards. The layout features mature oaks lining many of the holes with elevated greens and mounding. The course also has a stream running through the middle of it as well as ponds that come into play on about a half dozen holes. Additionally, the clubhouse has been completely remodeled and expanded to around 17,000 square feet.

A Dump, But good for the Weekends
I have a couple buddies that don't play too often and like this course due to the fact it is pretty much empty and plays quickly and easily. Bring whatever you need, the clubhouse is pretty much empty, no new balls, tees, equipment etc, they do have candy, drinks and snacks, but no real food. The course = Minimal water hazards, wide open fairways without many trees or other hazards. All the bunkers are empty of sand so you get relief from those as they are usually muddy or full of grass and weeds. The fairways and tee boxes are terrible! The tee boxes are hard as concrete for teeing up the ball with minimal grass, the fairways are equally hard and bumpy, with massive cracks from lack of irrigation... I lost a ball in the middle of the fairway, it had to have fallen in one of the many 2"-3" wide cracks that have no bottom. When you hit a tee shot On the plus side, the greens are in really good shape compared to the rest of the course, and if you like to play fast there is usually nobody here so it plays quickly. This could be a decent course if someone took a little time and money and cleaned the place up and did a little maintenance on the course.
Creekview
I wont return. The conditions of this course make it unenjoyable.
Fine track that has been let go a biyt
The layout is very good with a fine mix of holes that allow the "bomb" off the tee as well as needing to place shots to distance points in addition to requiring the ability to shape shots for low handicappers; everything an excellent layout must have. Greens are in great condition while the rest of the course needs water and some tender loving care.
Overall....my wife and I had a wonderful afternoon!
Great layout but terrible shape
Love the design and it could be a great course, but the conditions are terrible. I wanted to play the back tees but they were not even mown at all. It was like playing out of the rough. Fairways were long and scruffy. There were a ton of weeds everywhere. The only saving grace was that the greens were surprising in good shape. They grass looked good and they actually had decent speed. I was supposed to be first tee time at 6:32 but no one showed up till 6:38. Then I went out and caught a group that had just taken off without checking in. Then I had to play through 2 groups on 10 & 11 after I made the turn. That is always annoying to me when people are sent out on 10 when someone is turning. The have photocopied scorecards and only accept cash. I am from out of state but obviously the course has had some major problems in the past. It is too bad because if the course was in good shape, it would be a high-level course.
Good time
Fun course to play and in good condition.fun vourse to play. Good condition and greens were soft and fast. Carts ran great.
Bring Cash, and enjoy the course.
The new owners are not part of a credit card system yet so bring cash. I was a bit worried when I got there. No cc and the golf shop is simple. But then I got on the course and it was in GREAT shape. The owner takes pride in making the course nice and he does a good job. So,,,,, bring you cash and go golf at. Creekview. The owners need more people to go play to get more cash flow. But you will be glad you did.
Great
I play this course twice a month usually. I love it. Its a little spotty when the rain comes due to standing water, hard bunkers and inability to mow. However, when they mow the fairways constantly and its sunny it is a great place to spend the day. Love the wide fairways and its lack of awful water hazards. Really just enjoy this course.
Fast course
Perfect course for beginners with wide open fairways that have little to no bend. Course needs some work after all the storms in May. The greens however were in great condition and semi fast. Will definitely come back as the price to play can't be beat.
Course needs a driving range and practice greens. I hate starting a round cold without knowing how I'm hitting that day.
Staff was great and some of the nicest people in the clubhouse I've come across.
very wet 18
Had a great day playing 18 holes. Very nice course and a great value. The day I played this course it had rained 2 inches the night before, so there where a few very wet areas. Nice greens for this early in the year. Great staff, will be back next weekend.
long & wet
fairway in half descent shape. tee boxes & greens in great shape. will play again soon. nice friendly staff.
Closed!!!
Showed up to the course with a light drizzling rain and the course was closed.
great fairways
This course has hazards, but are easy to avoid. The fairways are very generous and pretty easy to hit. The holes are laid out pretty good, and the different lengths are just right for any skill level. I will for sure be playing this course often!
Very nice course with a great staff
Played this course 15 years ago and it is still very nice. I like the layout and the pace of play was good. The greens were in amazing condition for this time of year. Rains have help close all the cracks in the fairways and they are looking good. It is worth the drive and I plan on being back soon.
all about the greens!!
Course used to be in really bad shape! Recent owners doing a lot better job and the greens are super nice and have some speed! I play this course often cause u can actually play in 3 hours!!
Frindly peoplo.
I fell welcome when I go to play and look forward to playing there again.
Good for the cost
Good course to play. It's a good course for a beginner or pro
OK Course
For the price through GolfNow not too bad. The greens are pretty nice however the rest of the course needs some work. With a mower and a weed eater they could clean up the place alot. The fairways are not in good shape and are hard with big cracks. Sand pits are mud pits so they need much help as well.
Overall if you can catch a price around $10 for 18 holes good price.
