Not a course I will return to
Lots of singles and pairs, no effort made to send out foursomes. Play was painfully slow and waiting on every hole. Speed of okay was made worse by grounds keeping crews maintaining tee boxes and greens on almost every hole in the middle of the day. I waited behind a groundskeeper at 11 of 18 holes. Too slow, course conditions not up to par with better courses.
Good value for money
The course marshall did a nice job of fitting me in as the group of 3 that was to play with me turned into 4. The marshall worked with the groups in front of me to get a clearing on the course. The fairways and greens are just now starting to fill in after a hard winter here in Dallas.
Fun course
I went with my son for the first time, and we had a really good time walking 18 holes. I really like the layout, it is walker-friendly, and it is quite scenic. With the mature trees and landscape, it looks like a historic course that once was exclusive. The greens were reasonably fast and true, I had no problem adapting to them at all.
We played in the afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised at the pace. My son and I are both avid golfers, and even walking we play 18 in about 3 hours if not blocked by others. The pace went very nicely, we hardly waited all day!
This was a very enjoyable day, and I will definitely be back to this course. It is a bit of a drive for me, so won't go often but if I lived closer I would play it frequently. Great value, definitely a "hidden gem" in my opinion.
Golf Club of Dallas
This course was very nice, great value on GolfNow!
The Golf Club of Dallas
Let's just say that this place is a hidden gem. It used to hold the Byron Nelson Classic in the 50s so there is history. Driving into this club I was a little skeptical but boy was I surprised. A golf caddy met our group and brought our clubs toward the golf shop. I checked in and the service was great and the pro shop had lots of items and clubs for sale. There is a putting green, chipping green, bunker, and of course driving range near the first tee. The course itself is challenging. Elevation changes, narrow fairways, long par 4's, and not too much water which is a plus for me. Utilize your Driver for sure. The tee boxes were well maintained so were the fairways and greens. There were no signs of deterioration besides some of the pavement of the cart path but not complaining. What was important was that the play was not slow, there was a field Marshall who kept the groups moving and always making sure we were having a good time. After the 18th a caddy even wiped down our clubs for us, another plus! Afterwards dining in the club was great. Great food, excellent locker rooms, and the banquet halls were very presentable. The price I had paid for was a little more than most but for the facility itself and experience, well worth it. I would give the course itself about a 4 but the staff and facilities make it a 5. This course should be played by all on DFW. Highly recommend. Will be back again.
Tee times too close together
I played a round on a Saturday and there were 3 groups, that I saw, that had 5 golfers in each. This was the third time that I played the course and 2 of the 3 times it seemed that the course was trying to get as many people on the course as possible to collect as many green fees as they could for that day. I will most likely never play there again which is unfortunate because of the history and really cool holes that they have.
GC of Dallas
Old School golf course that offers elevation changes, lightning fast but true greens and is in good shape overall.
The clubhouse is a little dated and needs some repair. It looks like that is happening.
Overall the course is in very good shape and offers some challenging holes. I would recommend it.
Wow!
Never heard of this course until I saw it on GolfNow app. What a great staff, they called me up a cart and they drove it to me waiting outside the pro shop, I took off at an incredible speed those carts are impressive! Great challenging course narrow fairways with water hazards long par 3's and lots of solid old oak trees. The greens are fabulous loved everything about the course very professional as it had to be for the former Dallas Open host (now the Byron Nelson) what would you expect!
Nice layout.
My son wants to play here ever time he comes home from college.
Worth Between $20-$25
The course is in decent shape coming on the winter months. I play this course quite often when I come across deals between $20-$25. In my opinion there are better courses around the metroplex that I would rather play for anything higher.
Always a good challenge!
If you haven't played the golf club of Dallas, you're missing out on one of the great old courses in the Dfw metro area!
Weather wasn't greatest
Nice course, played in winter, greens were excellent but fairways were rough. Would play again though!
Golf Club of Dallas - Solid Course
A solid "old school" course in the middle of Dallas. Small greens, bring your good short game.
Fairways are dormant, but in excellent shape.
Greens were good and rolled true, except where they were scuffed up by golfers not picking up their feet when they walk. A NTJPGA tournament had been held there earlier in day.
They have a cart shortage. I had to wait until my group was on the tee before a cart was available for my use.
Best golf value in the DFW area. Would like to see the dress code tightened a bit. Was paired with a fellow player who was sporting his discount store cotton sweatpants. A good fellow though.
My home course now
Hidden treasure. Just don't tell anyone. I'd like to keep it to my self. ;)
this course has Great traditions and rich history, I wish the greens was in better shape the second time around..but overall, great layouts too!

Good but not as advertised
Ok course but nothing to write home about. Would I play there again, probably. really didn't like the soil on their fairways (it was clayish and stuck on the club was hard to clean off).
Good traditional course
Good small greens, nice bunkers, sneaky long, and one long par
Three,!
Best Shape Ever
We have played this course many times over the years and it seems to get better all the time. Greens rolled consistently well, fairways were lush and over all challenged us differently on every hole.
lush fairways
The course was in excellent shape: foliage, green surface, and ball revolution over putting surface
Great time
We added a fifth friend and they were very accomendating, however it was during the Cowboys game. So not very crowded. A great day on a good course.
