Nansemond River Golf Club

It was very windy and somewhat cold when we teed off but it did warm up a little. Twosome in front of us was very slow which caused us to play the waiting game which in turn caused the threesome behind us to be up out butts the entire round.

Very nice course, awesome staff, very friendly and informative. Course was in good shape, front nine was open and scoring was possible. Back nine water was in play more but there were definite scoring opportunities. Overall great experience, will definitely play there again

fairways are over-seeded with rye so they are plush green surrounded by dormant Bermuda . Greens are fast and roll true. Over all , a great value with a super club house and friendly staff.

Good value for the money from golf.now. Have played here for years and greens and fairways are in good shape. Over seeding for the winter is growing in.

The course is in great shape. Greens are fast and a bit challenging to read. Good mix of hard and easy holes. Great view at a few holes by the water. There was no wind today which made the course a lot more fun to play.

The golf course was is excellent condition. Tee boxes and greens were in outstanding shape. Our pace of play was a bit slow for my liking but it was no fault of the course or the staff. They have many holes on the course that test your skills and abilities as a golfer; I truly enjoyed my day on the course. I was stoked to play the 17th hole but the holes leading up to the 17th were just as challenging and enjoyable. I will surely be back for another round.

First--I will ALWAYS look to Golf Now for tee times. Especially for the HOT DEALS!! This was my first time playing Nansemond River and it was challenging. It had some fairly long par 3s and 4s, but what I liked about the course was I made smart adjustments on my approaches and played the holes better than I expected (not that my actual score reflected that). Anyway, the course was well maintained for this time of year and not so difficult that I did try going for it on a few holes. I will be going back (since I was the only one to get on the 17th green -surrounded by water- in 2). Have a reputation to uphold!

A must play for Hampton Roads residents. The course is kept up year-round and is always in great shape. Greens have a moderate slope and hole #17 always make for a tense approach shot.

This was the first time I played Nansemond River. The course was beautiful and we'll maintained. The greens where in great shape.

Not spectacular, but a very playable course. It was very windy when I played, so it was a little more difficult than normal. It also has some very scenic holes. I would certainly play again when in the area.

I always enjoy playing this course. It's always in great shape and offers a unique challenge. Great views on the river holes.

The greens were in great shape after recent aeration. The new fairway grass is coming nicely.

There are some very tricky holes on this course. They will challenge the average golfer as well as the 2 handicapper.

Nice course, greens just aerated but I knew this and it wasn't that bad.

This course benefits from an absolutely beautiful setting with the river and marshes all around. It is challenging from any tee box and will reward aggressive shots. Greens run smooth without too many undulations to be found. Get past number five with a decent score and you are on your way to a good round.

This time of year is the best for the type of grass Nansemond River has planted. Unfortunately I heard they are punching the greens next week. Get there soon or wait a few weeks for them to come back.

Beautiful views of the Nansemond River and wetlands on almost every hole. Greens were excellent!

Plenty of challenge but very fair.
Very few holes lined by houses.
Mostly surrounded by the river and wetlands.
The course was in outstanding condition.
