Edgewater Golf Club

I moved to Aiken , SC three years ago from W Va. I have wanted to play this course ever since I read about it 10 years ago. It was a 2 hour drive; but well worth it. Kind of like a bucket list course for me. The wife and I made it a day trip. I will be back.

The course was great as usual. One early morning group backed up everyone for half the round. Ranger was great and helped them along. Amenities are lacking for now but they are building a new clubhouse and better driving range. I look forward to when both are complete. I think this course is the best value in a 60 minute radius. We drive 40 minutes to play there and it is always well worth it.

I made a single tee time and arrived on time. At the starter shack the extremely rude Starter took my loaded golf and had me share with a group of three. The three were two young Men with rental clubs and a young woman with no clubs and a blanket who did not play. This would be fine except I am a 56-year-old, 10 handicap. The young man that I was paired with brought 12 balls and had never played a full round. He spent 14 holes looking for discarded balls as he ran out of balls on hole 4. The round took six hours. I tried to leave on the 12th hole 3.5 hours after I started only to find out there was no way back to the parking lot as the starter had taken MY cart. Too far to walk. the miserable old grouch starter is who I hold responsible for this. Loved the course the facility and Pro shop.

Go play Fort Mill GC if You are a seasoned Golfer. Saturday at Edgewater is for drunks, newbies and people who want to stand around the whole day.

Wonderful track for your average golfer. Plenty of tee choices to make it long or short. Great, friendly staff.

Have played many of the public golf courses in SC and this is one of my favorites. It is in a beautiful location and it is a great course for women (who are usually an afterthought at most golf courses).

Tuesday afternoon. There were 2 foursomes ahead of us, who played from the reds. We (also a 4) played from the Blues. It took 2:45 to play the first 9. The group directly ahead of us was on the tee every time we arrived at the next hole. A ranger, nor anyone else from the course, made an appearance the entire time. I left after 9 holes.

Greens still not fully recovered; course was wet so it played long; a lot of construction on and around the course; '

I'll be happy when the construction is completed and the driving range re-opens.

Edgewater is great for its money. But all the construction and punching of the greens. Give it a few
Weeks!

Fairways are not in good shape even for early March; weather has been difficult I am sure, but I love the course layout and better weather will produce better conditions I hope.

Major renovations happening on property causing the range to be closed. Went to the course early to warm up without knowing. No info online about this change. Frustrating to arrive and be unable to properly prepare.

I would highly recommend playing Edgewater for the layout, and the challenge. I played yesterday and the conditions were not off-season not so great. It didn't help that we had 2 days of heavy rains (we played cart path only - which detracts from the experience) prior to Sunday, which made for poor footing, lousy lies and difficulty in finding places to drop. However - when the course greens up, they get the tee boxes in shape, and conditions are dry - I'd highly recommend the drive. Admittedly it is a hump to get there - even from close by towns like Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Weddington, and Charlotte. Once fully into the season - I'd highly recommend it.

This was the first time I have played Edgewater and it did not disappoint. I love the layout and the course is in excellent condition. My only wish would be for everyone to fix their ball marks on the greens. But even that wasn't a big deal.
Really looking forward to playing here again soon.

We had a blessed day out on the course. I got to spend quality time with my son and friend. The course is beautifully laid out. There was only one or two greens with some patches of Repair. But overall the greens were well kept, dry and fast. Even though my putting game was off I still had a great time out on the course.
