Very Run Down
This course has some awesome views and a decent layout. Unfortunately it’s in awful condition. Fairways nothing but dead grass. Tee boxes all dead grass and sand. Two pin flags had holes in them. No on course maintenance workers seen, which explains why in such poor condition. Another player said the course was on the verge of closing due to financial problems. I spoke with an employee who confirmed this. Saw 4 five-somes, 2 of which were in front of my wife and I. Pace so slow and condition so poor didn’t finish round. There are 4 tee boxes at each hole but score card only shows three. Very disappointed that Golf Now has this course in its inventory. Weeds everywhere and bunker sand was like concrete.
Awful condition.
This may be the worst golf course I have ever played in terms of its condition. It is abysmal. Another player we talked to said the course is getting ready to close and so they’re doing no maintenance on it whatsoever Four instance the fairways are completely brown weeds are everywhere tea boxes are nothing but sand and dead grass and so on. I think you get the point. I am deeply disappointed that Golf now even has such a property available to play. This course has shaken my confidence in the credibility of golf now
Don’t get lost
The course ain’t too bad. If could use a little more TLC. The real problem is finding your way around. I suspect the course names have changed since nothing matched my gps watch. There appears to have been three nine hole courses at one time. I know that trying to find my back nine. A sign indicates a course but when you get there it’s just winding cart paths. Wasted a lot of time wandering. Even after getting directions to the back, I missed an obscure sign and spent more time wandering. By the time I found my way, A threesome jumped in front of me. I should have expected this since a couple asked me for directions to the back nine when I arrived at the clubhouse. I had no clue then having never played there before. They should consider closing the route to the closed course, at least remove the signs leading you there and make the u-turn after the tunnel conspicuous.
Course to close
Basically a dust bowl, complete lack of watering. Rumor course to close this June.
Disappointed
The driving range, tee boxes and fairways were dead grass and dirt. Greens were in poor condition also. It looks like it hasn't been watered in months. I purchased a "hot deal" and that was a total waste of money and time. I wanted to play the course in advance for the golf now deal caddy that I purchased, but am requesting a credit due to the poor conditions of this course.
Black Mountain Las Vegas Review
Grounds were rough and dried out but greens were very nice and well maintained which made them quick . We still enjoyed our time.
Save your money
Was looking for a cheap course before I had to fly home. Their fairway “grass” was non existent. $30 course at best. Their greens were nice but not receptive. Staff was nice. Wasn’t expecting much for $60 but didn’t expect to see brown fairways.
Awful
I’ve played a thousand rounds over 5 states in the past 37 years. Without a doubt this is the worst place I’ve ever played. Terrible conditions and $69 on GolfNow which is a website I trust and didn’t think they would allow such a god awful course to post tee times.
This course is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!
The greens on the course were the only part of the course that had been watered. The course is reverting back to the desert. The fairways were bone dry, and brown. You had to move your ball to find any grass to hit off of. They had not watered the fairways at all.
Any ball that got off of what used to be fairway was in the rocks. This course is dying and should not be offered to Golf Now members.
I would not give this course even 1/4 a star!!!!!
Calling this a goat ranch is not fair to goats
One of the worst experiences I've had in many years of playing golf in Vegas. It wasn't just that there were no marshals, but that the players felt entitled to play at whatever pace they desired. It was bad enough playing on dirt fairways, but when I made the turn and got behind a SIX-SOME, after 2 hours and 5 holes, I just gave up. I made the turn even, but couldn't stay focused with the raucous party going on three groups ahead. I will NEVER set foot on this course again.
Horrible
Horrible course to play at, fairways were dead everything was pretty much dead at the course. I’d never recommend anyone playing there. It’s supposed to be a “semi private course” yet the course isn’t kept up at all I feel bad for all the people who pay a membership there because they are just wasting there money. I wasted my money going to this course never again
THIS COURSE IS BEING CLOSED PERMANENTLY!
WE WERE NOT AWARE THE COURSE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING PERMANENTLY CLOSED. THERE ARE ONLY 18 HOLES NOT 27. THE FAIRWAYS ARE NO LONGER WATERED AND NOW VERY DRY. GOLF ADVISOR MADE NO MENTION OF THIS WHEN WE BOOKED WHICH MISREPRESENTED THEIR ADD ON THE COURSE! PAYING $60 TO PLAY WAS TOO EXPENSIVE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST HALF THE COST!
Disappointed
Entire couse had dormant conditions. Played previous two days and other courses had fairways with green healthy grass and vibrant greens. Felt for conditions that it was priced too high.
Poor Course Conditions
This course looked like they had not put water on it in the last six months. It was not an enjoyable experience at any price. The store was friendly.
Horrible Gounds
The pictures online are 100% deceiving. The fairways are like playing on hay and the amount of rock/sand was equal to the patchy dry grass. It was horrible.
Fairways wear not good. Brown was the color of the day. We will not be back.
This course had 27 holes but is now down to 18. I hope it survives but with no green grass in the fairways it could be tough. Greens were very fast and were good.
Memories
I have alot of great memories of this course, it is sad to see this course fail. The greens are excellent and fast. The only real problem is they did not over seed the fairways. However, you just play winter rules, works fine. Had a great time and for the price on sat of $20.00 you can't beat it.
