Willows Run Golf Club - Eagle's Talon Course
About
Willows Run Golf Club has something for every golfer with two 18-hole links courses, a nine-hole, par-3 course, and a "themed" putting course that draws inspiration from courses in four different climate zones. Located in the Sammamish River Valley, there are stunning views of Mount Rainier to the south. Eagle's Talon is one of the 18-hole, championship courses. With four sets of tees, the golf course appeals to a wide range of skill levels. The links-style course is challenging but fair, with strategically placed bunkers and rough. Water also has a prominent presence, with the Sammamish River running alongside the two championship courses. The river is home to several runs of salmon and trout and it also attracts a variety of birds including ducks and blue herons.

great day
Given the winter we've had the course was in good shape, better than expected. Ready to go again..
Terrible conditions
I would not recommend this course to anyone. It was in terrible shape, think cow pasture. Worst golf conditions I have played in 40 years. Our foursome lost a total of 20 golf balls in the middle of the fairway. Wait until summer time. Do not play this course if it is wet. I will never play it again. Way overpriced for the condition.
Love willows but....
I play willows very often, but unfortunately today was a little a little sub par. The rough was really long as we lost balls numerous times that were just a few yards off the fairway. The snack shack was closed early at 4 and when we drove into the club house to grab a hot dog, we were told that there was no ready food and everything had to be cooked. Don't get me wrong....I still like Willows and will return again. Consistency is all I hope as I am almost totally satisfied by the course.
nice course
nice course. they always keep their green pretty well. rough is a little high but, " its still winter " condition - acceptable.
they cut a lot of trees specially around the watar in #3 , #7 - makes the course more open .
overall ... we love playing at willows run gc.
Winter golf
Course was in good shape for end of winter. Weekend golf is tough especially if the sun pops up then everyone gets out so it was a bit slow.
Winter Golf
I am an annual member of the golf course,
This time after all the rainfall, it's very wet, had to play the combined winter 18 holes. some holes are still flooded out.
Greens are in decent shape once you finally got on.
Better than some other golf courses around.
That was a bunker full of water, not a water hazard.
We knew we were in for Winter play when we could not even find a bunker rack anywhere.
Great value
I love playing this course. The staff are all friendly. They have good food and drink deals. The course has taken on a lot of water recently but they have been able to manage it for the most part to still provide a great value and opportunity to play during the winter time which is not easy to do in the Seattle area.
great course
I was pleasantly surprised, the course was in summer like shape. the grounds crew has done a tremendous job.
Good value
greens were OK Traps are not good. They do not bother maintaining traps all winter. No Rakes.
Long
It's a long course and challenging if you miss the fairway. It was really wet and some holes were practically unplayable doggy messes! Still, I'll play it again, Sam!
Three Hours to Play the Front Nine!
Another disastrous outing at Willows! Booked an early afternoon tee time through Golfnow this past Friday. The usual prices are ridiculous for this poorly managed course so the only sane choice is a deal on Golf Now. However, even a great deal can't bolster this course's pathetic idea of a golf. We were placed behind a tournament of 96 people who, of course, were horrifically slow. Any well managed course leaves some tee time space behind a tournament, right? The hassle began with the notice that no golf carts were available and the range was closed. Then, the poor starter informed us we were "double booked" but he would "take care of us". Really? This poor guy has to act like a doorman at a Chicago night club just because management is so poor? After napping through the first nine, we simply couldn't take it anymore and called it quits.
We golf often and all over the West part of the country. We try this course about once per year just hoping to see some improvement. Once again, nothing but disappointment. I now understand why the other 12+ golfers in our circle have crossed this place off of their lists. Never again!
Great course! Upgraded and well kept.
Excellent course to play. Very fun 3rd hole especially...bunker was flooded with water though after a generous amount of rain the previous 2 days. But still the fairways were excellent and especially around the greens. Greens were consistent and true through the front nine. Also a comfortable walking course. Eagles talon is My favorite course to play right now.
Great deal for the money
We got a GolfNow deal to play Eagles Talon for $25 a person (including tax and fees), and for that price the round far exceeded my expectations. The course was a bit rough in areas, but overall it was a great experience. We started at 2:40PM and the pace of play was excellent- we were able to finish by about 6:30 and never once were we held up, not even at a par 3 hole. The course could use more bathrooms (or any at all...) as we were playing and it took 9 holes for us to see the cart girl, but other than those small quibbles I loved the round. Great deal.
Great golf courses
Beautiful , good maintain, staff friendly, and professional, good deal on green fees
Hot day of golf
The fairways and tee boxes were fine. The greens on the other hand were terrible. Balls bouncing all over the place. Some of it was do to people not fixing ball marks. Other than that, a good day of golf.
A Windy Day on Talon
The pace of play was excellent. Also the practice area easily accessed. It was a fine day on the links. Two small gripes: 1) the tees are too low on the driving range. And there are too few of them. 2) The greens were slow. We played at noon and they felt like they hadn't been mowed.
Course is in nice shape.
Love playing this course. Love that the greens are not flat, and I would imagine if it had not been wet from the rain, they would have had better movement. The downside to the course - they took away one of the tee boxes and now only have 3. I did not like playing from the Green Tees - way to short for me - 1,000 yards less than the White Tees. I will play off the Whites next time - I will just have to work harder for the pars. Had two firsts this weekend at Willows - did not go in the water at 18, and parred it!
Eagles Talon
Great day of golfing. The course location and conditions were great. Although the parking lot was crowded , I managed to find a spot to park. The pro shop staff were very friendly and professional. The pace of play was good that day. I have played Willows in the past where the pace of play was really slow.
For locals who know the valley that this course is located in understand the conditions are bad due to the record rainfall. What I will tell you as a men's club member is that the entire staff works as hard as they can with what the conditions of the valley allow. One should expect and know that in time, Willows will be back to where the staff wants it to be.
