Good practice course
Most greens are small and elevated. Although greens and tee boxes are not in the best of condition, the course offers challenging practice rounds.
Breakdown.
For one, the course is in a little better shape than it has been in the past. #8 still needs grass. It’s a little too expensive for the conditions of the course. I’ve played many courses cheaper than TWU in WAY better shape.
Favorite old course getting worse
I've played this course over 25 years and other than the greens not much has changed. But the greens are in the worse shape ever, almost as if they are trying to drive golfers away? I still like the layout though and will be back in the future!
Relaxing golf.
Played by myself and hit 2 balls per hole since closest group was 2-3 holes behind. I need the practice. Several greens were in bad shape. Pretty open course so you won't lose many balls. Not much water on the course. Played for 12.00 thru Golfnow . I will continue to play these average courses until my game improves. Nice place to play at your own pace.
Chose location because of UNT game
Overall good round, but there were about 5 greens that were in pretty bad shape (to much sand , high grass and not pressed).
Cow Pasture
This is likely the worst course I have or will ever play... they've given up on maintenance.... I left after 12 holes.
A Bargain
Fairways are decent, greens are a bit rough. There is no sand but some water. The bottom line is that It's cheap to play here,
Decent but needs work
This could be a really nice course if they would invest in the greens which are rough around the edges. No. 8 green is almost dirt and minimal grass. The fairways are a challenge in some areas due to the trees that line them. Slow greens. Needs work but could be a nice short course to play if they would just invest in some nice greens and tee boxes.
Course needs a lot of work
This course is about to close and they have let the greens go completely-some are bare dirt & others are partial grass/dirt. Or some are tall grass-but not manicured at all. I wanted to play it once more before it closed but will not recommend to anyone.
Nice little course
My wife and I play here on occasion. We always enjoy it.
This course is a historic course, awesome layout and they will be closing it soon . I love this course and recommend it to all.
Nice walk and challenging enough
While being a short course, the small greens, unique layout and pace of play make this a fun and enjoyable track to work on your game. It's interesting enough to make you pay attention and sometimes you'll play solo and be able to play two balls. Yes, the course is not the most meticulously maintained and the greens are very slow, but it's still golf and you can use all your clubs. It's basically a flat track so get a pull cart and walk!
Greatest Value in the Area
This course is in the best shape I have seen it in the 4 years I have played it (about once per year). The small greens and semi-narrow fairways make you think about each shot like a chess match. I know it is not a very difficult course overall due to the short distances; however, if TWU would invest in it, it could be a great 9 hole or par 3 course. I understand that it will be closing soon, and I'm sad that I won't have a place to take my kids to golf anymore. All other courses are too crowded to allow kids to play and learn the game.
Good for what they have to work with.
Understand course may be closing in the future so you can tell they are not putting much money into it. Carts are old but worked fine. I booked through Golf Now so got a very good deal.
Good bang for the buck
First time playing here. Course is kept in good shape and pace of play was great for a Saturday (3 hours 20 minutes for a group of 3). Greens are small and could use a little work, but good for the price we paid. A good little course to go practice on.
Good course, reasonable price for fair weather
Liked the layout, friendly staff. Weather turned bad towards the end will definitely go back in the spring.
Things are looking up
I last played "T Dub" about a year and a half ago and I swore I wouldn't be back. Last week, out of desperation, I booked a noon tee time through Golfnow. I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions of the tee boxes, fairways and greens. The back nine is still without cart paths but that makes no difference to me.
