awesome
Smooth greens and fairways. Lot of trees for shade and to play round them
Fun laid back round of golf
Friendly staff and a nice place to work on your game. Don't expect pga level greens and fairways, but overall a nice little course and relaxed atmosphere.
Poor Course and Poor Maintenance
Booked tee time for $17. Got to course and was informed I could only ride first 9, even though cart path goes all 18 and paid for riding 18. Chose to deal with it because I wanted to get a round in. Course was so muddy and water-logged that I turned in after 9 holes. Greens are pathetic and a lot are destroyed around the edges. Fairways are a mess of overgrowing grass and what loosely resembles a fairway cut. Tee boxes aren't properly marked, and you had two options, Blue or Red (Guys or Girls). I'd of done better to stay home and use my practice net to play.
Sweet little course
first time on Pioneer TWC. Course is very entertaining and conditions were good. Short course, as advertised, but interesting and a good place to work on your game. Will replay.
Great Staff...dog track of a course
First time here, extremely nice staff in the pro-shop (more like a snack bar). Paired up with three other guys, showed me around the course.
The course had tees and cups, and for $15 it was great. Not well maintained, 3 greens had more sand than green on them, leaves all over causing for lots of lost balls in the fairway.
Wide fairways, if you are a beginner or just want a cheap course to play, good deal. If you are serious about golf, go elsewhere...
Enjoy the course
A straight-forward course with few hazards but does have water on several holes. Flat and walkable, have played the front nine multiple times in 1 and 1/2 hours. Great course for beginners or people looking for a quick, inexpensive round without a 30 minute drive from Denton.
Good beginner course
Very few hazards. It's been dry, so more frogs than water. Very open and flat course. Fairways run quick. A few of the back 9 greens need grass; dire condition. Layout is a workout, if walking. First-timers need a map in the middle of the course as navigation is a bit confusing and some of the tee markers are in bad shape.
Great Value
Fairways and greens in great shape. Staff very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Inexpensive round
Decent course. Not well maintained and the greens need work. the layout is challenging. A good walk if you need a quick round.
Greens aren't horrible
For the money, this is a good course. Only a couple of par 5 holes, but a few of the par 3's are challenging. Nice staff, but finding it was a bit hard.
Good + Cheap Round of Golf
18 Holes for under $30 bucks with a cart, Tee Boxes and Greens could use a little love, but the hazards have water in them now, and turtles..
Greens a little rough due to recent airation but good valuel
Inexpensive course and a good value. Nice fairways. Greens need a little attention but they usually put the pin in a good area. A few interesting holes but not very difficult. No sand traps. Par for the course is 69. The front 9 has 4 par 3's. We played on a really nice day and had a good time.
None
It rain the nite before I played it and it had, standing water everywhere it remind me of a cow pasture and if it wasn't, for the great deal $9 I wouldn't have played it.
This course has poor features
tee boxes are pertty much bunkers. the greens are patchy. this course is easy though not worth the money to play. the cart paths are not fully done. half the course has a cart path and the rest don't. Par 3's have sand on greens for some apparent reason. would not recommend this course.
Very poor maintenance
It was my 1st and my last time at TWU Golf Course… Very bad Tee box and the greens were horrible. The grass outside the golf course look better than the entire course… (I give them F or D-) Has potential to be a very good beginner golf course, but not in the condition it’s right now...
For $26 there are plenty of much better courses to choose from
The course layout is pretty open and very forgiving. Maintenance is awful; grass was unkempt, one of the par 3s had a flood on the green and actually had the hole on the fairway. When hitting irons you're more than likely to take a cloud of sand with you, even on the fairway. As others have said there is very little in the way of a cart path after the 9th hole except a makeshift dirt path. But I would be more forging of all of these if the rates were even remotely reflective of these. For similar prices you can play much better courses in the north Texas area such as Lake Park 18, The Plantation in Frisco, Coyote Ridge, and several others.
Great course - Fun to play
First time playing this course in late winter, it was in great shape. Course layout easy to navigate due to cart paths (paved concrete first 9 holes, gravel remaining 9 holes) and plenty of signage. Good mix of straight away holes and doglegs, both left and right. Several holes had tricky water hazards.
Electric cart was in good shape (no GPS though). For the walkers, they actually have the old school pull carts to rent. Staff was very friendly. Would play here again!
