The course is being worked on and looks to be coming along well.
The only problem I had with this course was the "golf now" price was $16.00 and the course informed me that was incorrect and they charged $22.00. I don't think the miscommunication between the course and "golf now" should result in me paying $6 or canceling plans to play after driving all the way there. Of course I paid the $6 which I believe is what they are counting on and that is why they assume you will pay it or not play.
Tired looking course
This course is not challenging at all. The layout is very confusing to say the least. Greens and fairways need attention.
This course needs help
Lots of bare areas in fairways and I mean bare dirt. One of our carts ran out of juice on 17...had to push it in. Staff was friendly and gave directions by phone to two of our foursome due to address being incorrect on website (it took them to a house on the other side of town). This course needs some TLC before our four will want to return.
Huge disappointment save your dough!!
I will start by saying we had a decent size group of guys who came from southwestern Oklahoma to have a great weekend of golf. We were able to find just that. Although, it was not at twu pioneer gc. We walked into the pro shop having booked tee times on golf now that even though only cost a $2 fee we were expecting to pay $20 to play that day this was to be our last stop on our way home from an otherwise awesome wkend. The lady n the pro shop said they have nothing to do with golf now and would not honor the $20 we were to pay and the green fees with cart would be $28 dollars again not a huge deal but the course and greens were not n near the shape of courses we had played n greater dfw area for that price. Long story short we left before completing our play and went to lake park in Lewisville it was only about a 10 min drive from twu the staff was super friendly course and greens were n great shape, and to boot it only cost us $20 with cart. We ended our trip happy even though we all felt we could of bad steak on the way home for the $28 dollars we wasted at twu. Look around there is great golf near this place without the disappointments provided by TWU.
Coarse needs work. 4 unplayable greens. Over booking results in extremely slow play , we experienced 10minute wait times between shots.
It's the little things that make an average coarse a good value. It is cheap but bad coarse conditions and a blatant disregard for players tee times resulted in a frustrating mess trying to get off the tee box. When the pace is kept up there are fun features to enjoy and forgiving wide fairways considering they fit 18 holes into acreage that seems like a football field! Staff was friendly enough but didn't know much about the coarse. In all if you can find a smokin hot deal on golf now, it's worth a go around. Any players taking their score seriously will be disappointed in well places shots left in terrible coarse conditions. Bring a foot wedge and kick it to a better lie and you will survive it.
In a good way, the way golf used to be
Took my 2 nephews ages 13 and 19 and had a great time. Shorter course but great for $9 and $5 for the younger. Walkable executive length course. Fairways were passable but the greens were great! Par 3's has some challenge to them because of the carries over hazards. Several driveable par 4's if you are up to the challenge. Well-placed doglegs and small crown greens. It takes 75 minutes to get there but for the fun and the price I'll do it again.
