Timber Banks Golf Club & Marina
About
Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville boasts the only Nicklaus Design course in upstate New York. The golf course rambles through ancient forests and across lush grassy meadows. The tranquil environment is the perfect setting for a round of golf. Nicklaus incorporated his signature features into the design including a variety of interesting risk-reward opportunities. The challenging layout features tight landing areas and undulating, uniquely shaped greens. The putting surfaces are known for playing fast and true. It seems as though there are hazards at every turn on this challenging golf course, including Nicklaus' trademark fairway bunkers. The abundant wetlands also come into play throughout. Timber Banks Golf Club already measures to a whopping 7,330 yards but it can feel even longer thanks to all of the tricky spots you're sure to encounter.

Great course with challenging greens
Outside of the casino courses, this is the best public course in the Syracuse area IMO. Some people complain that the greens have too severe of undulation, but everyone is playing the same course. The course conditions are excellent and it is a great layout. The course also has good practice facilities. My only complaint is that lack of a clubhouse which supposedly has been coming for a few years, but no sign of a ground breaking yet.
Great course
Great course, layout, conditions. We'll worth the fee.
The premier course to play in this area
From the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens. The course is outstanding condition. Offering blind tee shots, challenging approach shots and very undulated putting surfaces. After the round was finished I was already looking forward to the next time to play it again. What a great addition to our golf community here.
Great Day
I tee'd off early morning. The staff and course were ready to go. We had a great round. Fairway sand played into my drives. The greens proved to be challenging.
just love the course
This is such a great course, still needs some time to mature, but the set up is great and such a joy to play there.
Course in great shape
We played two days early AM pace of play was 4 hours - we had 2 in cart and two walkers
Course in great shape and greens were very challenging
Staff greeted us and was attentive and welcomed us at start and asked that we return at end of round
You need to play the track
Great track under priced for a high end track. Great greens, but hard. You have to be I. The correct position or 3 puts come into play. Very friendly staff. Good practice facility to boot.
great course
would play anytime course is in good shape anytime that you can play under 4 hours is great
Top notch
A true challenge for everyone, maybe too much of a challenge for "a hacker". PGA Tour style greens. Great practice facilities Only downside is no bar and restaurant to relax in after the round.
Have Fun with these greens
I have to say I really enjoyed this course. It reminded me alot of North Palm Beach Country Club (also a Jack design). The greens are the real defense to this course. It seems like they buried an elephant in each green. When I played it was fast and firm fairways and even the rough, which I love. If I had one complaint it would be the rough, on the front nine it was a bit spotty, they appeared to have recently aerated the rough.
If you are in the Syracuse area do yourself a favor and try this track
GREAT COURSE
Greens are tough!!!! Almost too difficult for average golfer. Pin placement seemed set up for Sunday at Augusta
Very nice
This is a very nice course and probably the best course in the area, other than the turningstone! But I recommend it to everyone it is quite challenging from the championship tees but not so bad from the whites. Get there ASAP! It is a must play!
Timber Banks
Very well manicured and maintained. The second cut rough was quite thick. Greens are like potato chips which us a great and interesting challenge.
cost too much
beautiful course..challenging greens..too pricey for area
Fun and challenging
This course was in excellent condition for early spring. Played whites and it was a good time. Long ball hitters should definitely play blues. It is very long from tips and would be very challenging. Lots of bunkers so bring your sand game. Didn't realize they had GPS set up for your smartphone.
PGA quality type course.
Scenic, professionally maintained, PGA quality type course. Plenty of challenges with bunkers, water, rough, and carries. Greens are large, quick and have extreme undulations. Not a course for beginners. Regular fees are higher than most in the area, but the course is that much better. Grab any Hot Deals available, and you won't be dissappointed!
Extremely challenging course fun to play
This course is must play. Have a large fairways. Tee shot is not problem until the approach shot to the green. Greens are very difficult to hold. You must know where to land the precise location or you are facing three putts or more. Greens is super fast . No way to stop if putting downhill to the hole. It is a more challenging greens I ever played . This is not a course for high handicapped golfers to play . For low handicapped golfers must play this course
excellent course
Love this course - great shape, will play it as often as I can!
Awesome course!!! A little pricey for the area if you can't find a deal !! Thanks golf now!!
Great course!!! Grounds are always in the best shape possible!!! Greens are fast!! Practice facility is one of the best around!!
Can I give this course 6 stars??????
Beautiful setting for a golf course. Nicklaus design - very impressive!! Selection of tee boxes to make it a challenge for all.
Can I say more about this course? If I could, I'd give it 6 stars!!
GO PLAY TB!!!!
