Timber Banks Golf Club & Marina
About
Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville boasts the only Nicklaus Design course in upstate New York. The golf course rambles through ancient forests and across lush grassy meadows. The tranquil environment is the perfect setting for a round of golf. Nicklaus incorporated his signature features into the design including a variety of interesting risk-reward opportunities. The challenging layout features tight landing areas and undulating, uniquely shaped greens. The putting surfaces are known for playing fast and true. It seems as though there are hazards at every turn on this challenging golf course, including Nicklaus' trademark fairway bunkers. The abundant wetlands also come into play throughout. Timber Banks Golf Club already measures to a whopping 7,330 yards but it can feel even longer thanks to all of the tricky spots you're sure to encounter.

Great course friendly staff
Fun course in great condition. excellent staff. Would play again.
Fun course
Course in great shape. Greens fast and wild. Hope you like extreme undulations.
READ THE GREENS
If you like a challenge on the greens this is a coarse for you! You can get to the greens in regulation but try putting out in regulation. It is one of the best coarses I have played for green
angulation.
Challenging design
An excellent course slightly high-priced for the area com great layout toff greens requires strong course management I highly recommend
Great Course. Challenging. Well maintained
Really nice course. Very fun and well maintained. The greens were nice other than people don't fix their ball marks often enough. Other than that it was worth the drive and money. Nice practice area as well!
Challenging for any level
One of the most difficult courses in the area. Different tee boxes for all levels of play. Overall one of the best experiences of the year. Great practice area; including a great range, putting green, and chipping area. Friendly staff.
great course
it was cart path only.but with all the rain they had it was in good shape.maybe the pro shop should give lessons on fixing ball marks ,because the group in front of ours didn't fix a one. great course we'll be back
These greens putt as well as any I've played
The normal price of this course is much higher than most in the area. I couldn't afford to play here on a regular basis, but you have to play it a couple of times a year. If you're looking for flat greens, this is not the place for you. Since it's a Nicklaus design you know what you're in for. Some greens have elevation changes of 3-5 ft. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. At this time there is also no bar or pub to sit in after. They do have a snack bar out side that will supply you. GOLFNOW can save you some $$$ if you go through their site.
Course has great character.
The Nicklaus design course has several typical features. Framed tee shots, bunkering and greens with a tremendous amount of movement in them. Bent grass from tee to green and in outstanding condition. A very challenging but very fun course to play. The staff was very friendly.
The perfect day for golf
Coarse is in flawless shape. Truly syracuse's finest coarse.
This is the best player's course in the area ... BY FAR.
The central NY area has a lot of golf courses, but nowhere else apart from going to Rochester or heading to Turning Stone will you find a course that offers a challenging set up, and pristine conditions like this. If you play from the tips, which we did, at 7331 yards, keeping the long ball in play is essential because nearly every par-4 will require a driver and at least mid-iron to get to the green. All four of the par-3s are over 200 yards, and the Par 5s are tempting to go after in 2 with a good long drive. Also, the greens are very challenging, and fast.
This is a great course in every way, very tough, but fair. If you get out to play this place, you won't be disappointed.
Course is in nice shape. Unless it rains a few days before you go. Poor drainage.
Course is usually in very nice shape. Approach shots need to be spot on, unless you enjoy 3 putting. From the white's the course plays pretty short. Average for men would be the blue's in my opinion. Management needs to move the yardage's around the par 3's better. The blue's usually always play 180-185. Have heard other folks complain about same. Course needs to send ranger out more often. Most of the time during the week you never see one. It only takes one inconsiderate golfer to ruin the day for the rest.
Top Notch Course Fairways and Greens are pure.
This is an exciting course with many challenging holes. I have played in Florida for years and this course has many features of typical Florida golf.
The greens are in perfect shape but there can be some very difficult pin placements.
There are some good deals so don't pass them up!
great course from tee to green
timber banks is lots of fun to play. course is well maintained. best kept secret in central new york
Beautiful course with unfair greens.
This is a very nice course to play. Very thick fairways but the greens are very unfair. Not great for new golfers.
Must play if in area!!! $22 on HOT deal.
Great course. Many interesting holes. Hit it straight!!
Awesome course
One of the premier golf courses in CNY. Excellent conditions and quite challenging. Looking forward to playing this course again.
