Spring Creek Golf Club
About
Spring Creek Golf Club, which is just outside of colonial Charlottesville, tumbles across the wooded hills that sit beneath the mountains of central Virginia. The scenic course winds through mature trees and it is also accented with rock walls and bridges. The layout will test your accuracy with its narrow fairways, water hazards, and strategically placed sand traps but it is still playable enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels, and there is plenty of scenic respite as well to make the round well worth the reasonable green fees. The golf course is relatively young but it has quickly garnered a strong following. When it opened in 2007 it was named the "Best New Affordable Course" by Golf Digest, and since then the accolades have kept coming, including being ranked as one of the top 100 public golf courses in the country.

the par-3 8th is the easiest par-3 on the course. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 08/05/2018

The par-4 10th is an iconic dogleg right and usually has an insanely tough pin location. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 08/05/2018

The par-3 13th is one of the tougher short holes on the course and one of my favorites. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 08/05/2018

I'm a sucker for split fairways, like this one on the par-4 14th. The 16th and 18th also have rough running through the middle. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 08/05/2018

A great finishing hole with water all along the left side of this par-5. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 08/05/2018

Premiere
I would play this course every week
It's worth driving an hour to, conditions where superb. I've played Cabo del Sol, Torrey Pines, Pebble and many other resort courses. It is definitely in my top 10.Can't wait to come back from PA next year
Clippah
A must play course. Even though it is early in the season, course was in great shape. Cant wait to play again. I did not utilize the 19th hole so I did not rate this.
Horace Brooks
Best course I've ever played at! Even in the off season it's better than most courses!
Awesome!!!
I got paired up with a guy and we were riding and another gentleman came up as we were teeing off and asked to join. He was a member and he was walking, which is the reason behind the almost 5 hour round. Other than that, the course was in pristine condition for being the middle of winter. Bunkers were a little hard pan due to the fact it rained the day before, so that was a little tricky to maneuver. Fairways were picture perfect. Double tiered fairways were interesting to see. They had a little maintenance going on around a few drains, but nothing distracting. $10 per hour for driving range is a deal you can't beat anywhere. Although it is a little over an hour drive for me, I am definitely going back. They were in the process of building a new clubhouse, so it may jack prices up, but I'm seriously thinking about becoming a member regardless of the distance.
Fantastic!
This was my first time playing on bent grass, loved the conditions of the course, the layout and atmosphere was great, the venue was peaceful...would absolutely play here again if given the opportunity.
WOW ... That's a Understatement for this Course ...
Where to start??? I guess I will start with #58 on Golf Digest top 100 Public Golf Courses. December and the Greens are perfect (lil fast but a smooth / true roll). Fairways are in Great Shape and the ball sits up perfect. Now to the Bunkers and boy there are plenty of bunkers (I think the guy said “46”) and they are not lil bunkers, large Pebble Beach size, lol, but good sand, NOT that rocky / play ground sand. All and All a great course, tough but fair. It is definitely a great course to play. I will be back in the spring / summer, because if it is in great shape in December / winter, I can’t wait to see it in spring / summer. HIGHLY recommended Golf Course.
Course in great shape!
Great course! Clubhouse still in the works! I will be back!
Perfect Course
Great course condition. And I can`t believe this winter season course look like golf seaseon condition. Perfect.
Unbelievable tournament ready course
There are thousands of courses in the US and I've only played a few dozen so take what I say with a grain of salt. I can say that I've always wanted to play a tounament ready course and this was it. This course is much nicer than many of the private courses I've played. Bring lots of balls if you're a high handicapper like me because this championship course will challenge you every step along the way. Also, I hope you like hitting out of the sand as every green is very well protected. A challenging course but not unfair. You won't be disappointed.
Amazing
Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Best golf course I've played in years.
Fantastic Course, Lightning Greens
Clean tee boxes, double-mown fairways, fast greens. Only qualm with the course was that there were few, if any, memorable holes to talk about with your buddies after the round. On the other hand, you WILL talk about your 4-footers that turned into 15-footers; the greens are no joke. Top 100 for a reason, and it lives up to expectations
In a word; Spectacular!
Spring Creek is a fantastic golfing experience. Its immaculate fairways, and lightening fast greens offer a challenge to every level of golfer.
Great Course at a Great GolfNow price
One of the best courses you will ever play at a great rate with Golf Now.
Best by far!!
A must play!! A great deal on golfnow.com for $32.00! For someone that has never played there, its a great deal at regular weekday rates!! Would play there again anytime! Top 3 in the state by my opinion!!
very nice conditions.
the course had been aerated recently but the greens were still pretty good. Very nice layout and conditions were very good. It will be even better once the clubhouse is built. could use more drinking water on the coures. only 2 places to get water besides the beverage cart which came aound often. they could also use more ball washers.
wonderful ccourse
I will tell who play the golf must try this one. I am very enjoy!
greens recently punched and sanded. layout outstanding and challenging. at $40 a great deal.
great course to play at $40 even with the greens recently punched and sanded..really hard from back tees
Pretty course
I love playing the course. It is challenging but has plenty of room to make mistakes. The scenery of each hole is like a picture.
First-Rate Track
This is one of the nicest courses I have played in Virginia. Essentially five-star. Every hole is visually outstanding and challenging. Conditions were excellent, although, as with many courses this time of year, the greens were aerated. This took little from the experience even though they were unnecessarily slow. This should be on the must play list of Virginia golf courses. Exceptional value with the GolfNow discount.
Excellent
One of the best courses in the area. Great value through golf.com. For once, I didn't tire of replacing ball marks because there weren't as many to fix.
