Extremely Thick Rough
Such a beautiful course with a lot of potential, but the rough is so ridiculously thick that it’s very hard to find a ball even 1 foot off the fairway. Wish they would mow the rough shorter to allow for a better pace of play and less lost balls for no reason.
Rough way overgrown
Play here often and it’s usually in decent shape for a public course if a little expensive for what you get. But today the rough was so overgrown. impossible to play from for us amateurs. balls were lost 2 yards off the fairway because they were so buried
Overgrown rough
1 star for the super thick overgrown rough. It's like playing in the US Open. Impossible to find your ball and hit out of it. Ruins all the fun.
Love the layout
I always enjoy the Lakes course. It’s a tale of two nines. Front nine is wide open (not forested) but the rough is its protector. Very penal - so you must keep it in the fairway to score well. The back nine is parkland style - tree lined fairways with much less rough. Also tight compared to the front nine. Always in great condition. Greens had been punched a while ago, but still puttable. Should be back to normal very soon.
Greening up nicely
The Lakes is in very good condition. Greens are firm but will hold shots. They roll very true. My missed putts were all operator error. Fairways are growing in well. Bunkers are in good condition. Pace of play was great. This course is definitely still in the rotation
Under Repair
Would have been a complete 5 star review if one of the greens on one of the par 5s wasn’t under repair. I didn’t know this when I made the booking or until I hit my approach shot in. It was over a blind hill so I almost hit 4 iron from 90 yards because my golf GPS said I had 190 in.
Either way great course. Highly recommend.
Great course
The course was in great shape and seems to play to my liking
Twins Lakes golf course
First time playing course and nice day. Good shape and greens growing in and one temp green.
Good condition
For winter, can’t complain. A bit wet and soggy as expected. Greens are in top shape for the time of year and the fact it’s a public course. Will go again this winter weather permitting.
