Salish Cliffs Golf Club, part of the Little Creek Casino & Resort, is located 20 minutes from Olympia and is just a little over an hour from Seattle. When the course opened in 2011, it was named "Best New Course" by both Golfweek and GOLF Magazine. The dramatic landscape of the course travels up and down over 600 feet of hillside, providing panoramic views of Kamilche Valley. The golf course is covered in bentgrass turf more frequently found in tropical climate, but that is just one of Salish Cliffs' many unique amenities. Each hole offers a unique challenge. Though the fairways and large greens roll true, accuracy is essential or you'll be severely penalized for missing them. The course finishes on a positive note with an opportunity for a birdie if you favor the left side all the way.

A must play if you're in the area

Great course with lots of features. First time playing there, but will return. Lots of elevation changes. The course was in great shape, considering the recent drought. Greens were fast but ran true. Nice practice facility and range balls included in price.

Enjoyable round of golf

Very nice facility and the course was in great shape. Staff is very friendly. Tha carts are great with a nice GPS and score keeping unit. I thought the $60 fee was fair all things considered. I'd play there again.

Close to perfect!

Just a great course! Excellent greens - rolled fair and true (wish I would have made a few more of my putts). Super friendly staff and the fairways, hazards, rough, etc., give you plenty of opportunities to challenge holes and yet punish the errant shot. Look for a good deal, pricewise, and this will surely be a special round for you. We loved it and look forward to playing it again.

Amazing course, definitely a must play in Washington!

The course was an excellent condition. The tee boxes were amazing, fairways were good and greens are fast and true. The staff was friendly, from the bag drop off, to starter, and cart girls, everyone was friendly. Course definitely is challenging but fair. Risk reward, excellent views. Watch out for garden snakes, show several. Pace of play was good, played in 4 hours with a slower 4some in front of us but didn't really wait on any tee boxes. Worth the drive from Seattle, also they have Hot deals during the week, so if can, buy one and go play. Won't be disappointed.

Immaculate

Salish Cliffs is first class. The course was in beautiful shape: green fairways and challenging true greens. The back nine is more difficult than the front, in my opinion. Each hole is framed nicely, and territorial views are seen throughout the course. The practice areas are very nice, especially the area by the first and tenth tees. The food in the restaurant is good and provides a nice atmosphere, also has a nice outdoor seating area. Everything about this place is top notch and I look forward to returning.

Awesome course!

The staff was super courteous and helped us tremendously because they knew that it was our first time there. The scenery is very nice and each hole gives you something to view outside of playing golf. The course is very well maintained and is very challenging. On the day I went the wind was blowing mach speed but that just added to the challenge. I drove 3 1/2 hours to play this course because I had heard a lot about it and was well worth it. I will definitely be going back.

Beautiful and Challenging

Course conditions were excellent. Nice layout where you can tee off with different clubs. Greens were terrific. A bit windy which makes club selection important.
Joanie came by with the beverage cart several times and made sure we had sufficient provisions.
loved putting on the greens. Smooth and speedy.

Nice but not worth the drive

The course is in great shape, looks beautiful but after driving the two hours from Seattle the dead flat bunkers were a bit disappointing. In my opinion it is not worth the drive. If you are in the area though it is a must play.

Phenomenal Course, but WINDY!!!

With fairways cut through forest, and privacy on every hole, Salish Cliffs is what you think of when you think PNW golf. The conditions were immaculate from tee to green, best greens I've putted on in WA. However, the prevailing strong (consistent at 20-30mph) headwind you play into on the majority of the holes made playing the course an exercise in frustration. If I could guarantee a calm day, this would be the best course I've ever played. But it sounds like those calm days are few and far between. Still, you should play this course to say you have.

Best one yet

We are in a weeklong trip to Seattle, playing each day.
We arrived early, and pro shop staff asked if we wanted to start early if he could fit us in..being already in the high 80's , we said yes!! Everyone was super friendly, you can see they are very interested in providing excellent customer service. The course was in spectacular condition. Some if the other courses we have played gave been totally baked out with terrible greens. Not here..excellent outing. No rating for beverage/ food as we had brought plenty of Gatorade

Expect windy conditions

Well maintained golf course, with nice 18 hole layout. There was swirling winds and found out that was the norm, so expect to lose a few balls, especially with dense borders along the fairways. Excellent food and staff was very courteous. The course is located on the backside of the casino. Give yourself a little time to get there and hit a bag of balls that are free with cart/green fees.

Excellent Conditions and Perfect Weather

This was my first time playing Salish Cliffs. The course was in excellent shape and the greens may have been the best I have ever played. This course ranks as a Top 5 course for me. And I have played several PGA Tour courses.

The bag drop is pretty straight forward and the assistants were helpful and friendly. I was able to get a pretty good rate through golfnow so that made me feel pretty good to start with.

The driving range was pretty small but it had multiple targets to aim at. The targets were close to the speed of a normal green so you could get some idea of how your shots would react to a full swing. The practice putting green was very much like the greens on the course so it gave you a good indication on what was in-store. The chipping area near 1 and 10 tee was as good as any I have seen. 3 greens to practice at with various conditions. Make sure you head up to the tee a few minutes early so you can take advantage of this area!

I thought there was a great mix of holes on the course and many stood out. All the holes were very fair. The par 3, 2nd hole was my favorite. It's a short par 4 that can be reached. I birdied that hole so of course it stood out. #1 is a par 5 and it can be reached in two but it's a very difficult tee shot. Make sure you are ready for that first hole. #18 is a great finishing hole that can be reached in two. It has some water to navigate on the approach.

I would suggest playing this course. The only negative was the pace of play. I played as a single and I had to wait on every shot and the round took almost 5 hours. I played a second 18 and no one was on the course. So if you go at the right time you can play in under 4 hours.

I can't wait to get back out to the Pacific NW so I can play this course again.

If you played as a single, you should expect to wait on every shot unless the course is empty. I would agree that 5 hours is too long for a round of golf.

Salish Cliffs Golf Course

I drove down from Alberta to attend the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay and figured I'd play Salish Cliffs again as it was in the area. I've played here several times in the past few years (5 rounds in April) and have never been disappointed with the course. I have high praise for the golf course but a lot of golfers, myself included were pretty disappointed during a visit the week of the 2015 US Open at nearby Chambers Bay.

This visit was an exception, because the US Open was being played in the area golf course management took it upon themselves to "rip off the tourists" by charging $150 dollars instead of the usual $95 summer rate. The three ball I joined on the second hole & golfers I spoke with in the clubhouse after the round had choice words about the "gouging". Yes, I could have refused to pay their BS rate but I played anyway after having driven 2 days. Bottom line is...I won't be spending any money at Salish Cliffs when I take my annual spring golfing trip next year or the next.

Hotels jacked their rates from $150 to $500 a night during the US Open, but a golf course can't raise their rate?
