Needs more maintenance
Quirky type of course, does not drain well, played during rain shower, fairways and greens were soggy to start, also needs a lot of tree trimming especially around tee boxes, hence the quirky tag.
Would not recommend to beginners or ladies as most fairways are tight, wooded on both sides, played on a hot deal, so no issue with rate.
Disappointed
Tee boxes, cart paths, fairways all well below average. All except one green (7) were in pretty good shape. Unfortunately all were very spongey, probably poor drainage. In any case, greens played very slow. I wanted experience to be positive, unfortunately the course conditions were very poor.
Drive placement is the key
Course is short but tricky . The back has 2 easy par 5's shorter than 500 yds and are must birdies. The greens are very slow and the traps are sparse. All in all I had a lot of fun. It is a great value.
Nice course
Staff was excellent. With all the rain the day before the course was in great shape. Next visit to the area I will play this course again.
Wet
To be fair we had a lot of rain the few days before playing and it was clear they hadn't cut it in a while. There were piles of turf everywhere. Problem wasn't the fresh cut stuff. There was a lot of dried out stuff as well. Every shot, fairway, tee box, etc,,,came up with a ton of turf.
Greens were molasses slow which wasn't fun.
The layout is very tight which is ok, but it isn't fair. On the front nine there are a bunch of par fours you can't approach no matter where you land on the drive. This was the first time playing and as a result the swamps surrounding most greens caused a lot of lost balls.
Back nine was a lot better so you at least can leave with a good taste in your mouth.
Tight, Challenging and loads of fun
Played here on a Thursday with my pal. The course is shorter than average but makes up for it with challenging dog legs and tighter fairways. Greens are above average and everything else is average. What got me is the awesome staff and how well we were treated. It really felt like we were apart of the course. We are gonna start playing here every Thursday am now. Never crowded and its privately owned by local brothers. I recommend you all to play this course with an open mind and make the most of it. PS its BYOB and nothing beats that.
This course is in awful shape.
Stone meadows lives up to the name. Divot riddled fairways (if you could even call them that), bunkers with overgrown grass, and a really short course. Not even worth the value for $13.00. They could have a nice, small course if they took the time to maintain it. Definitely pass on this course.
Nice short course that is improving under new management
I feel the greens are the best feature of this course. That said they are small and require great approach shots to be on the green in regulation. When it is dry it plays completely different than when it is wet. The fairways unfortunately have areas with depressions that collect rain and kill the grass and make fairway shots demanding. I like this course as a place to go practice- keep it in the fairway, get it on the green, sink some putts. And above all else have some fun. For an easy course, if you get out of position it can cost you strokes.
I would love to see what you shot here. Did break 120.
