Course is in good shape. Staff is always friendly. I enjoy my round.
Great course, but needs TLC. But price was good
Very nice course, needs some work. But very fair price for the condition.
Sand tracks in the gree s
Course is in terrible shape! Payed for.18 left after 9. Weeds in fairway, tee boxes not mowed actually most fairways hadn't been either greens terrible. I think 4 had a tire size strip of sand through it
So Much Potential
Arguably one of the coolest tracks in Middle Tennessee, 25 minutes from Nashville, and incredibly scenic. Unfortunately this course is on life support from lack of quality control, differed maintenance (both course and structures) and at times dangerous situations driving carts.
With the hills, and distance between holes, you almost have to have a cart. That said, the golf carts are in disrepair, with alignment issues, broken seats, and questionable functionality of brakes and pedals. This doesn’t mix well with very steep cart paths, with almost no directional signage when you’re weaving between wooded areas to get to the next hole. What normally would be amazing to skimmer thru brooks and wildlife is sadly mixed with treacherous roads down massive hills. If you don’t know what you’re doing you could seriously injure yourself. Sadly this doesn’t stop the course from making you sign a liability waiver putting all the blame on yourself should you have an accident out there. Not reasonable given the equipment they give you.
All to say, this course has so much potential if they decide to mow the grass, fix the broken bathrooms around the course, grow grass, fix the cart paths, replace the carts with reliable / safe ones, and fix signage. It’s too cool of a place for management to let it look like this.
Terrible
The worst golf course I’ve ever played. They should be embarrassed for how it looks honestly. Weeds galore. Fairways, tee boxes, greens. Not even the cart path is off limit for weeds. Terrible irrigation and “sand traps”. They clearly gave up a long time ago. Sadly, nashville doesn’t have near enough courses to keep up with the demand and people will still end up here out of necessity. But you really shouldn’t go unless it’s absolutely last resort. Not even worth a $30 hot deal.
Wow
This course took a huge step back from two years ago when I would play here regularly. I returned today with a friend and was blown away at how bad everything has become.
Greens have full blown bunkers in the middle of them/patches that make hitting consistent putts throughout the round nearly impossible.
Fairways aren’t manicured or even cut for that matter. We were struggling to find our balls when they were dead center of the fairway. Patches of clover and crab grass were all over every fairway making it a crap shoot every time you swung at your approach shot. The bunkers were non existent and have become grass craters.
The range was ridiculous as well. Not a single good spot to hit from due to divots that remain unfilled. I asked the pro shop if they had a putting green to which she replied “it was under repair” — after playing here today, I realized that they don’t care to repair it.
Golf carts were a serious safety hazard as driving on flat land had our cart wobbling and jumping due to alignment issues. This course requires you to climb up and down steep cliffs with your cart and our brakes would barely work and required me pushing both legs down on the brake to get our cart to slow down to a barely safe speed coming down a hill leading into a bend.
Please just take your money elsewhere. It’s no longer a bang for buck golf round.
What happened ???
This course has been one of my favorite bang for your buck courses. Staff is always friendly as it was yesterday. The course has just went to heck. Does it look like it was mowed at all in the last two weeks. Couldn’t find balls that were in the middle of the fairway due to patches of clover. Multiple greens were lost and had sandpits in them. to say the least all of my friends who I brought with me so they wasted their money and I can’t blame them. Definitely won’t be back until next year.
Could be awesome!
Layout and views are the best in middle Tennessee. I can’t believe management has let it go. Greens, fairways, traps, and tee boxes are really bad. I’ve watched it go down for the last 5 years and really wish someone would take it over and take it back to its full potential.
It's a nearly abandoned golf course
Although this property is beautiful and very cool to play, the maintenance is so bad that it makes play hard to enjoy. Maybe they clean it up more in the spring but the fairways were several different types of grass and sandy or muddy in places. Piles of leaves in the rough, no sand traps, greens were in tough shape. Hard pan everywhere which hurts my neck after so much bashing the club against the dirt. Canopies had overgrown in ways that made tee shots difficult for anyone. It's worth playing once just to see the scenes and ride up and down the course but you'll see what I mean by hole 2.
Use for practice
Still a reasonable rate of 30 bucks use to practice your game nothing is cut just pick up ball once on green due to poor of unhealed aerating and not mowed very slow greens Course was the best in the area 10 years ago with its course layout and the green keeper when it opened was awesome now it is even par if not less then riverside except it is cheaper here Same carts when they opened but they got us through 18
unfriendly staff, overpriced, horrible upkeep
arrived one hour prior to tee time to allow time for range balls and warm up. The "manager" informed myself and my playing partner that the small bucket of range balls, which were so beat up and weathered that there were barely evident dimples left, would cost us $13.17 per bucket. She claimed the outrageously inflated price was due to people steeling her balls and buckets. That was about 20 balls. Reluctantly we stayed to play and paid for two buckets. The natural "turf" range offered no decent spot to hit from. mostly divots and weeds. On to the course. Every cart they own has half the drivers seat ripped off with no effort to repair that issue. The steering left us fearing for our lives making our way around the course up and down the hill sides with eroding pathways and treacherous falls to near certain death. The course itself was just as sad as the rest of the experience. Most of the greens were plagued with disease and spotty at best. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!
Not Pebble Beach, But...
This is not an upscale private club or posh resort. The club house is not particularly fancy, the snack bar wasn't open and the pro shop is bare bones,
But none of that matters to me. I care about one thing -- the golf course. Is it fun? Is it interesting? Is it challenging but fair?
I answer yes to each question.
I like hilly courses with lots of elevated tees and elevated greens. Pebble Brook has plenty of both. It also has lots of blind tee shots which is fine, but I wish they had a bell or a mirror or a tower so you could be sure the group ahead has cleared the landing area without someone driving up to the top of the hill to check.
Be sure to bring your range finder because yardage markers are very hit and miss.
I should note that the course conditions were better than I expected for the first week of February just 2 weeks after a 9 inch snowfall that stayed on the ground for 10 days with sub-freezing temps that whole time. Yes, the greens are rough, but they are playable if you move your ball away from the biggest dirt patches. (I had 6 one putts and no three putts).
The seat cushions on the carts are torn and the scorecard holder was missing on mine. But the cart had plenty of oomph and the brakes worked fine.
I played behind two inexperienced golfers but still finished in 4:15 on a Saturday.
So much potential
First off, the lady at the counter was exceptionally nice. The course was packed & I think we waited on maybe 3 tee boxes.
The layout of the course is amazing. I know when the trees bloom this place looks amazing.
Now to the course itself. You could have put a bunch of goats on the fairways & it would have been maintained better by them than it currently is. Clover growing all over the place, you have no choice but to play your ball up almost every single shot. Middle of the fairway is equivalent to hitting the rough essentially. Weeds everywhere, no consistency in the length of grass. Grass growing in the sand bunkers.
The greens were an absolute joke, as you’ll see in pictures. Hole 18 was the best green I played & had 0 complaints about.
Hopefully someone who cares about golf can come in & buy the course and change this place because it has a lot of potential to be one of the best courses in the area just based on the layout of the course.. It was my first time playing & I was fine with paying $50 for a round on a Sunday, and after hole 1 after seeing the conditions I’m not sure if I would have paid $20 for this course, even on a weekend.
