Very Good Value
The overall experience was very good. Pace of play was ok. Tee boxes were a little shaggy but nice. Fairways were soft but the greens were pretty firm. The sand bunkers were unpredictable. Still, it was a nice round of golf for the right price.
a treat to play
Fast greens, fairways were very good with lots of grass and the greens were excellent and fast.
Worth the time to play it
Not Fun
The staff and overall condition of the course was fine and as I expected. I did not expect to find dormant greens that had just been painted. They were too firm as evidenced by the lack of any ball marks. I personally hit the greens on many holes and could not find a ball mark to be repaired. This of course lead to my ball shooting off the back of the greens on all but two of these holes. Did not enjoy this at all. Receptive greens are nice to have, but evidently the cost of over seeding out weighed their desire to provide a playable course. Perhaps if I cared to play here more often I would change my game and learn to roll the ball up from the fairway so it can stop on the green. Sorry, just didn't have fun playing here.
SD Senior
Have played this course several times and always find it to be in good condition. Staff was friendly and the experience was excellent.
One Hour Frost Delay
There was a one hour delay due to frost. Not sure how they had frost, it never got below freezing in the area. Fortunately, I called ahead so I knew about the delay. I did not feel that the staff managed the delay very well. There were significant gaps in time between groups crossing over onto the Coyote Course. If this situation had been monitored, we could have been sent off earlier than our new adjusted tee time. In another case, there were only two in a group to start off on the Roadrunner Course, so they could have paired up another twosome and worked on reducing the overall delay time.
Coyote and Roadrunner
These two nines do not have too much target golf. The staff was very accommodating. There was a frost delay, but they were able to get us out at our scheduled time. In Winter months, always call find out if there is a frost delay, they are at a high altitude.
There was no beverage cart so plan ahead.
The best in Green Valley
From tee to green Quail Creek is the best golf course in Green Valley.
Nothing Special
Fairways with grass but very wet. Rough inconsistent. Painted dormant greens. OK value now but when prices go up later during the season this course will be lacking relative to many others in the area..
First Time But Not The Last
This was a last minute deal for a single player. The pro shop staff were incredibly pleasant, as well as helpful. The course was in very good condition, especially for November. The greens were lightning fast and unforgiving but would hold a ball flown onto them. Awesome views of the surrounding mountains from many of the holes added to the ambience of a well maintained course. I definitely plan to play future rounds at this location.
course in nice shape
played the course the first week of Nov. and the course was in very good shape. the greens were some of the best in the area to date.
Windy, but great course
Near-perfect greens that run fast but true. Best condition of any course in Southern Arizona.
Excellent conditions
Played the Quail/Coyote courses. Both 9 ' s were in fantastic condition. The greens were very fast and could pose a problem to some. Great Vistas of the Santa Rita Mtns. can be seen from most holes on the course. A course just 20min. south of Tucson and we'll worth the ride.
Enjoyable
Absolutely would return. Just enough challenge to make it enjoyable. Along with a good pro shop staff and a fair price made it a great day.
Quail Creek
Always a fun course, great conditions and fast play...
Good Shape
The course was in good shape! Greens were pure. Fairways good. Sand traps were in good shape. All you could want.
Sunday 10/5...awesome!
The staff at Quail Creek is always EXTREMELY friendly and helpful! The course was in great shape (fairways a little furry after over seed which is expected)...greens were beautiful especially for only having re-opened the week prior. Views are spectacular especially on the newest 9 (Roadrunner). Thanks for a great day of golf!
great post-overseed round
Course in great shape. You can cross fairways in cart. Tee times 9 minutes apart so it almost seems like no one in front or back.
Very Nice golf course
First time played and loved it , got to know your clubs nice long shots, 3 wood and 5 wood then putt. Its just great when you play good
Good challenging course, well maintained
The course had just reopened after overseeding, so it was cart path only, and will be for the next two weeks. The fairways were in great shape. The greens were still slow and shaggy on the Roadrunner nine. The pro shop closes early, and there isn't always a beverage cart.
Great layout..excellent greens..getting ready for over seeding.
I always enjoy Quail Creek...it will challenge you and is a target golf course. You must keep it in the fairway. The wind and rain helped add difficulty to our day.
