Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort - Deer Nine Course
About
Coyote Creek is situated just west of Sundre, nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The golf course is comprised of two distinct nines, the Deer Nine and the Coyote Nine. Opened in 2005, the Deer Nine was the first of the two to open. The Coyote was added three years later. The Deer Nine features undulating greens that are balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The bunkering is seemingly minimal but it's strategically positioned to punish errant shots. The golf course opens with an intimidating par 4 with a double-tiered green but the toughest hole comes next. This par 4 is also the longest, playing to a massive green that has two bunkers on each side. Laying up short of the green is an option if you can't reach it in two.

Simply, Would play this Course again.
Friendly Staff, Good Layout, Well Maintained.
Decent Value. Like said.; Would Play Agaiin!!
Why would they allow a group of 6?
We were a 3-some & were held up at every hole by a group of 6 players. This situation is shameful. Later found out that a few of these players were friends of the owners/GM. Nice & convenient for them but very rude to those playing behind them.
Fall Colours at Coyote Creek Golf Course
As always, a pleasant experience, including great golf course, courteous & helpful staff. The only complaint was that they were unable to increase the temperature and the amount of sunshine. Other than that, a very good day.
Nice track in great condition
Solid design with interesting holes - moderate difficulty, mostly generous off the tee, some water in play, and lots of deep bunkers in play (watch for variable sand depth though). Moderate sized greens with moderate slope - rolled very true with the odd bump. Fairways carpet-like due to lots of recent rain. Overall very good shape - well maintained. Mostly in tall trees though sometimes adjacent to associated RV resort lots - good chance to find your ball quickly if in the trees, but not always. Excellent range (grass) and good practice green. Good electric carts. Friendly staff - checkin, snackbar, snack cart, cart guys. Very good value on GN Hot Deal.
Excellent central Alberta course
A little gem of a course. The course is great value. Enjoy playing Coyote Creek.
Beautiful, well-maintained course
Good, honest, golf course. Greens, bunkers and fairways always in great shape. Most of the holes are straightforward. Beautiful, peaceful setting amidst resort homes and RVs. You won't have to worry about the homes and RVs unless you really spray the ball. Clubhouse staff and marshalls are personable, and the residents or other locals that you might join up with are friendly and easy-going.
Nice littel gem.
We were not sure what to expect of this course, but had a very enjoyable afternoon. The course, while not overly challenging, is very well maintained, the greens were fast and in excellent shape. Most fairways are wide and generous. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. No complaints here!
Hidden Gem
Course is in great shape well maintained and a great setting.
Excellent course
Excellent course. Great shape. Super greens.
Great early season round
Excellent early season conditions
GREAT PLACE TO PLAY
LOTS OF THE GUYS FROM CARSTAIRS LIKE TO PLAY HERE. GREAT TOURNEYS,AND HAVE BEEN TREATED VERY WELL.
slow play
5 1/2 hr round and no marshal after tourney was done after the first 9 holes. 2 4 somes in front were always taking a long time looking for balls and wouldn't let our 2 some through. We ended up playing with the 4 some behind as a 6 person for last 4 holes and still waiting on the 4 some in front of us. Might go back but don't know yet.
great value for the dollar.
1 hour frost delay that we were unaware of. Everything else was good.
My favorite course
Great Great Great course in great setting. Great Great Great course in great setting.
Well kept, moderately difficult course
I have played here a few times with GolfNow specials that make this a great value.
The course is in really good shape, with fairways in particularly nice condition. The setting is lovely, and the RVs and vacation homes do not detract from the golf. The clubhouse staff are friendly and efficient. And I have been paired up with nice, relaxed people.
On this course, hazard = bunkers. There is little water, no elevation change, and no serious doglegs. Unfortunately, there is a sameness to some of the holes.
User friendly.
Not overly difficult but some of the holes are a little challenging. Many of the fairways are quite generous.
Beautiful course in great condition, with terrific staff.
I play this course often and come back time & again because the course is always in beautiful condition and the staff are great.
The new clubhouse/Coyote Grill is terrific !
Staff Member Freaks Out On Course
I would like to say the course is great.. good condition... but do not go there if you are just learning. Jerry in the pro shop verbaly attracted us on the course was rude in his approach tone. He yelled at us to pick our ball of the green and go to the next hole as they were very busy that day. He was so angry he practically spit on us when he spoke. Watch this course if your a new golfer or wanting to learn or if you plan on golfing there with your family Jerry will go out of his way to make you feel abused!! Dont think ill go back as long ad Jerry is there. Way to wreck the sport Jerry you are a rude old man!!
Great course
Thoroughly enjoyed this course- great condition, friendly staff
Decent short track
Generally good shape but bunkers are poor , no sand just hard pack dirt
