Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club - Silver Pony Course
The course was great , staff was fantastic, great day of golf !
Course was in great shape for Mid-July
A fairly short course, but the price was right. For the time of year, the fairways were in great shape. Greens were a bit bumpy, but that's to be expected this time of year. They were in better shape than some of the more high-end courses, however.
Wow, the summer sure has not been kind to this course. Looks like they had airified (sp) the greens a couple weeks ago. But even still, .... Looks like they’re trying to get it to come back, as there was a noticeable amount of water. Unfortunately the sand traps were taking on a bunch of that water too. Really a shame, it’s a fun layout and friendly people.
This was the first time to Silverado for me, even though I live right down the street! I would definitely come back!
Thanks for the great service and friendliness!
Summertime in Scottsdale. Course could use more water
Very playable course.
Not a difficult course, l call it an ego booster track. Greens and fairways (even after fairways were aerated) were very playable. Greens were medium speed today, but they can be quick. FAST round teeing off at 10am on a weekday. Cant beat the green fees (thru GOLFNOW) - $21. Staff is very friendly, top notch service.
We are in Phoenix for two weeks and we wanted to try various courses. We’ve played many our yearly visits. Silverado was recommended by a resident of Phoenix. We were pleased with the course even with the fairways being aerated. It is a great course for many types of players. Pace was good and course staff were friendly.
Very Slow Play
Very disappointed in the lack of discipline regarding tee times. There is no attempt to properly stagger tee times so we had two and sometimes three groups waiting on some tees, especially early into the front nine. Rangers were non-existent. Expect a 5+ hour round on weekends.
Great course fot an average golfer, yet challenging for the good golfer.
One of the most playable courses I’ve ever found. Beautiful layout, especially the back nine. Greens in good shape, staff super friendly and helpful. Always a good round, no matter how I play. Clubhouse staff most friendly and helpful. I frequently can just show up and get joined with others. The general clientele are most normally friendly and easy to play along with.
Very wide open, not much in the way of water or hazards, other than bunkers, which were well sanded with some high greenside lips. Greens were in good shape, and rolled true, slightly fast. Fairways had some burn, but generally good for this time of year. Plenty of drinking water on the course. Our threesome played in 3.5 hours (weekday) This not a difficult course from any of the tees. Great for beginners or for sharpening your shots. Enjoyed the round, and will play again. Good value.
I like this course, it’s very forgiving for mid handicappers and that makes it enjoyable. You don’t have to hit the perfect shot like some of the desert courses and can still score well. They were working on a lot of holes on the front nine but it wasn’t a problem and will only the the course better.
Great course for $&$
Very score friendly course layout! Forgiving off fairway opportunities , sand reachable par 5’s in regulation for average length hitters ! Great food available @ turn, attentive cart girl and course attendants and amenities
Know the riles
I dropped after 9 due to the pairing. A couple sharing clubs, giving lessons, etc. I remember when I first started playing but I knew to be ready and golf etiquette as it impacts the entire foursome. This was not a good experience and I wanted to play this course (extremely dry and brown however).
It’s not complicated!
Love this course because it’s great for a beginner or intermediate level player. It’ll give you confidence!
First time in scottdale
The greens were very fast the course was in great condition. It was a bit expensive but the course is long and wide and the other golfers are very friendly
Staff are very friendly. Course was in great condition when we golfed. Our tee time was in afternoon, it was not busy at that time so we had no one ahead of us or behind us to deal with. I would defiantly golf here again when in Scottsdale.
Good course for a friendly round
Played 5/15/19 and teed off around 11 a.m. We were a twosome so expected a little slowness during the round. Was surprised that we finished the front 9 in under 2 hours, but then at the turn a foursome who had been in front of us a ways had stopped for lunch apparently and jumped onto the 10 tee box after eating in front of the twosome in front of us. So we waited about 15 minutes for the tee to clear. However, once they got going, they seemed to be moving at a regular foursome pace as we finished in just over 4 hours. So pace of play was okay, it was just irritating having to wait on the 10th tee for so long. Course was in decent shape, greens ran pretty fast but that's to be expected here in the valley at this time of year. Sand traps were all over the place. A couple were really nice and fluffy as they should but two had a scarcity of sand on top of the hard pan and it was disconcerting to try to hit out of those. You should know that there is no water hazard on the course until you reach the par 3 18th hole which is a great finishing hole. On the front 9 there are some parallel fairways and some of the groups in front of us were spraying the ball across their fairway into ours so we had to be alert for that. I would recommend this course for a nice friendly round or maybe for one of your first during your visit.
