Fun Course for Beginners and Practice
Conditions were excellent, The course setup nicely for the beginner playing with me (except for #5, where it is extremely difficult to hit the par 3 green due to trees blocking the entire right side (even more difficult from the back tee where I played) and the forced carries on # 12 & 14 were it is a little intimidating for a high handicapper). The people working at the course were very friendly. We had a great time and will be back again and again.
portland west
The course worked out fine for my daughter. She's learning to play and enjoyed the par threes.
Course was a perfect fit!
Excellent course for my son and my style of play. Good balance of use between irons and woods. Course was very well maintained and provided a relaxed condition to play in. Looking forward to our next trip.
Perfect Par 3
Such a well designed course in fantastic condition. A really fun par 3 with some challenging holes.
V Good for an Exec Course
Challenging holes bring different clubs into play. Have played here before and sometimes course conditions not as good as 7/31 when I played.
Great Shape!
Played 18 holes riding with a buddy this past weekend. Pace of play was terrific and finished in under 3 hours. From tees to greens- the course was in super shape. My buddy however decided to skip Hole #7 as there were an OVER-ABUNDANCE of yellowjackets/wasps around the 6th green, 7th tee/green- and then again on the 11th green as well. Great course to get out there and practice your wedge and short irons, with a few par 4s thrown in as well. Always a great time.
Top notch executive course!
Ideal short course for teaching your kids the game. Great environment with a friendly staff and a well designed course in very nice shape with many challenging holes.
Good practice for your short game.
Course was in decent shape. Typically there is a long wait to play each hole but today wasn't so bad.
One of our favorites
One of our favorite local courses. Absolutely beautiful.

Last Sunday before the 4th of July firework!
I played here about a year ago. I got my yard work done early so I decided to book a tee time for myself, instead of playing with my friends. When I arrived at the golf course the guy at the counter told me that I would be playing with another guy by the name of Roger. The course is par 60 I played better that I expect because the front roger beat me 42 to43 the I got hot in the back and shot a. 36to 46 it was a good Sunday considering I did't play to go out the course was beautiful the green was perfect. I would recommend this course to all my friends and all the golfer out there in the Hartford area to go out and play this course at least once. The green is the hardest part of this golf course
Great course
Very challenging I will play again. Even though it is only par 3 and 4 it is still a great course. Don't let it fool you the first hole is the easiest, after that it's all down hill
Well maintained course
Always enjoy playing this course. Has some challenging holes. Overall medium difficulty.
Improve short game
We enjoyed our day at Portland west. Conditions were very good and players ahead of us moved at a good pace. Great course for working on short game.
golfers
This was the first course that I played were the golfers in front of me had a open hole in front of them, but never let me and my wife play thru. Plus the players were hitting more then one ball really slowly things down more.
Course is in great shape
I went to portland West for a practice round and was surprised what good shape the course was in. Greens were nice but a little slow. Note there was 2 inches of rain the night before. The fairways were great. Nice job on the drainage!! Tee boxes were in great shap as well. Every golfer should be adding it to their list for a practice or fun round. I will watch for specials and plan to return a couple time a year.
Great course
Course is in great shape! Perfect course for a beginner golfer. Pace of play was right on point. Looking forward to this year's league there.
This course is great for all golfers
Always have fun at this course, friendly staff & great course.
