Beautiful and challenging
Played here on our way up
To Banff. Beautiful course in the middle of nowhere. Tough, long challenging course. Several par 4’s over 400 yards. Hitting a 200 yard shot into a tucked pin was a challenge. Enjoyed it and would love to play it again
Montana's top public course
The Wilderness Club is as close to off the grid as American golf gets. It's just a couple of miles from the Canadian border and more than an hour from the nearest airport. The resort is in the midst of a major expansion, building a main lodge and more real estate to complement a great course. Nick Faldo's routing features a nice mix of water holes and bunkered ones. Its greens might be a little overcooked, but it's a flaw that's easy to overlook when you're distracted by the views of the mountains and Mother Nature. A definite must see for any diehard golf traveler.
Magnificent Golf Course
Wilderness Club is an absolutely fabulous golf experience. The course is in immaculate condition. The fairways are perfect, the ball sits up nicely. The rough is tough but fair and the greens are first rate - lots of undulations but they read well and roll true.
The staff is excellent beginning with the gentleman who greets you with your cart as you are unloading the car.
I heard that Wilderness Club was a top course, but it still exceeded my expectations.
Great job, Nick!
Exceptional!
I don't give many courses 5 starts, but this one was easy. You'd be hard pressed to find a finer public course. The track was in pristine condition from tee to green and scenery wonderful. It looked like it had never been played before. Very few diviots were to be found anywhere. The front 9 was a little flatter and back had more elevation changes. Every hole was different and a new experience. Some with wide fairways, and others that demanded precision shot placement, and others with risk/reward factors. Nick Faldo designed a gem here. I'd continue to go out of may way to play here, and for the price, and exceptional value. Play it!!!
JUST GORGEOUS!
The Wilderness Club is a Faldo masterpiece........this course has unbeatable conditions, outstanding bunkering and gorgeous site lines from every tee box! It is by far the most beautiful course I’ve ever played from hole number 1 to whole number 18. The practice area is very nice as well.
If you are in the area or anywhere remotely close you need to make the trip to play it, you will not be disappointed! It is definitely worth the Golf Digest rating #42 best courses to play in the United States.
Number 1 on my yearly playlist!
Great course.
The fairways are the absolute best you will ever find: not cut too short like many course do but so very consistent and perfect. The greens hold some very severe undulations so hit the practice green beforehand as it is a true test of what’s to come. The course architecture is great and is a real treat to play, there are some traps and collection areas you will want to avoid. Lots of variety on each hole. Some you could bomb it, some required very specific placement off the tee. We had a confirmed tee time at 11:48 but upon arriving were told that there was a ladies group that somehow took precedence over our booked and paid for time, so we waited for about 45 minutes. Not a big deal as we practiced a bit longer on their first rate practice facility but that was a bit of a surprise to be told that.
Absolutely Spectacular Faldo Design
Sir Nick Faldo........ this is an absolute gem!
If you have not played here you need to!
The sightlines from the tees, bunkering, green undulations and overall condition of the course are some of the best I have ever played. Faldo likes to incorporate a lot of links aspects in his design and they are very apparent here.
The grounds crew do an outstanding job. I will be back!
Unbelievably beautiful and challenging. Best course I've ever played.
Sneaky tough
Wonderful course, tougher than you think it should be. Was on 3-day unlimited play and loved it. remote, beautiful area. Ambassadors are great, course in great shape and pace good (4 hour or less, carts-don’t try to walk it) Reminds me of Circling Raven in that some holes you can see no other golfers. Will definitely be back and with long Montana days you could play 54 holes in a day.
Wildernesses club
Guard at the gate way out here ? Grumpy starter. Seruity guy in golf cart on patrol on the course ? Nice course but a little much off the course.
Excellent course
this course rocks! such a beautiful, peaceful setting. interesting golf holes, superb conditions, FUN golf. course reminds me of Suncadia in WA. Eureka/ Kalispel has some sneaky great golf...
if you play here, stay at Bornerline B&B
Must Play!!
I've played this course twice, and I'm going back next month for another round! It's an amazing layout with beautiful fees! Truly one of my favorites Faldo did a fantastic job in all regards.
