Rough greens.
They should close for a little bit and pay attention to the greens, this is the worst shape I've seen these greens in. They literally spray painted the greens green, it was a joke
Pace of play horribly
Pace of play here is horrible, a group stands up on the TEe like nothing else in the world exist but what they’re doing like they’re having a cup of tea up there or something! I’ve never played here with the winds less than 40 miles an hour so I’m not sure how the course really plays in regular conditions but overall the course seems good
Greens are in rough shape.
The fairways were in great shape for the time of year. Unfortunately the greens were another story. The quality of the greens were subpar and in need of repair on multiple holes. Another area for improvement would be to have a bathroom on the front 9.
65 mph wind gusts
I played this course, in a 65 mile an hour wind storm. I will tell you the greens need a little bit of work surprisingly the rough and fairways were quite excellent. A lot of the fairway grass was yellow however around the greens was soft green grass the rough was about 1 inches of real soft grass which is very very rare for El Paso. The one bad thing about this course is there’s a lot of car trails running through all over the place, but other than that it’s a really nice good well-maintained course
Wasting valuable time
People need to hurry or learn how to let smaller groups pass them. I’m tired of wasting my money to not play all 18 holes with enough time because people want to drink and mess around on the course. Staff should be able to regulate that on the course and have never done so. Golf is an expensive sport for someone to ruin it by not allowing to be able to finish their match.
Great Saturday afternoon
I was very pleased with the condition of the course.
The pace was very slow though.
We had to skip 2 holes in total of 3 groups..
Only the one roup of 4 guys were slowing everybody
After that we had a chance to finish the 18 holes
Good enough
Course is good, layout is crazy, no true obstacles but Bar is better than most. Well personal wise
Course renamed to Horizon GC
Lousy greens, layout and cart path. Had nice playing companions but not a course that I would play again.
Great condition to play.
Course was in great shape and the greens were fast. I would play there again.
TERRIBLE management by Dustin. Worst proshop guy ever
We booked a tee time at 6:40 on 11/24 to try and beat the Black Friday crowd but had to wait because the prob shop guy, who’s name is Dustin, allowed more than 5 parties to jump us and forced to us to tee off 30+ min late. On top of all that, he had the audacity to make us skip 2 holes because he thought we weren’t keeping pace. This definitely wouldn’t have happened if he just knew how to manage his course accordingly and not favorite his buddies. We ended up finishing on time so it was evident that Dustin was just being a total jerk about the situation and didn’t want to compromise his personal agenda on the course. We’ve never had any problems with any course in El Paso until now with Dustin. Never visiting horizon again and definitely letting our professional buddies at AM600 and other sponsors of horizon golf course know about the terrible management of Dustin Blaine.
Course
Course is in excellent condition had a great time even with the temporary greens.
3 stars is stretching it
The course itself needs another month to come into itself. The greens are shocking. They resemble yellow corrugated Berber carpet.
Pace of play was slow as well. I left after nine.
The staff here are very friendly however. I saw them out there working on the course, so likely it will make a comeback. Pro Shop staff were very cool as well! Thanks for your hospitality.
Play at the end of summer should be sweet
