East was great, North was rough
Played the East and North courses. The East course I thought was in great shape, some tough spots but for the most part was very well kept and maintained.
The North was the opposite. Very little green, the rough was literal dirt on most of the holes, sand traps were rock traps, and was overall just in bad shape. From what I could see, the West course looked pretty good.
If you can get tee times for East and West, definitely play here. If it's for the North, maybe try somewhere else.
DISAPPOINTED
I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY TODAY BECAUSE MY WIFE HAD ACCOMPANIED ME AND WAS GOING TO RIDE ON THE CART WITH ME BUT NOT PLAY. WE WERE ALLOWED TO DO JUST THAT AT THIS SAME COURSE THE WEEK PRIOR AND NOTHING WAS SAID. WE MADE THE TRIP FORM FROM LAS CRUCES AND WERE TURNED DOWN. THE PRO WOULD NOT MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR THE DAY UNLESS, OF COURSE, WE PAID AN ADDITIONAL GREEN FEE FOR HER TO ACCOMPANY ME ON THE CART AS A "SPECTATOR" ! IN OTHER WORDS, "SPECTATORS" ARE NOT ALLOWED UNLESS YOU PAY A GREEN FEE FOR THEM TO RIDE? WE ASKED IF THEY WOULD MAKE AN EXCEPTION FOR THE DAY SINCE WE HAD DRIVEN DOWN FROM LAS CRUCES AND WE WERE TOLD NO. AND BY THE WAY, THEY WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL - IT WAS WIDE OPEN. NOT A GOOD WAY TO PROMOTE BUSINESS. WE WILL NOT RETURN....
Best shape in years
Course has been brought back quite well from a few years ago. Greens were absolutely fabulous...
Rain check
we reached the 4th hole and was rained out and lightning. We were told since it was twilight no rain checks issued. I drove 30 minutes to play this course and very disappointed. Considering the fact that some of us travel a ways to play this course and got rained out is unsat. I'll still play this course but will be minful of all of a sudden weather conditions. Still great staff and great course.
A day of Agony
Played the East North and although the East is in great condition, the north is still in need of much water.
The agony comes in because we had a mower seem like he was following us and whenever he was mowing down our fairway, he didn't bother to stop and wait for us to hit.
No etiquette what so ever as if we were a bother to him!
They probably shouldn't put us out on a course that there working, I thought why they had 3 nines!
Great desert course
Absolutely beautiful course. Accurate teeshots are rewarded with challenging but fair approach shots. We had a great time and enjoyed the challenge. Will definitely be playing again.

The course greens were in immmaculate shape!!!
It was my first time back on a course in a few months due to the pandemic. So it was very refreshing to see all the work the staff has done to meet the guidance on social distancing and how easy it was to check-in. I was expecting to deal with a bit of over growth in the fairways and shaggy greens. But to my surprise the tee boxes and fairways were in great shape; but what took my breath away were the greens. They were beautiful and in immaculate shape considering. My hat is off to the course superintendent on managing the upkeep of the course. I look forward to playing here again real soon. Great job to the entire staff.
Amazing Experience
I have only played one desert course before, but many other traditional courses. This was by far the most amazing experience I have ever had golfing. The staff across the entire clubhouse was first class with service. The clubhouse itself is gorgeous. The course, while spectacular in its views and scenary, it both challenging and rewarding.
I thank everyone at Painted Dunes forbthe opportunity to play there. I look forward to getting the chance again.
Painted Dunes
Course was in excellent condition for winter time. Greens were quick and smooth. I encountered several of the staff on the course conducting maintenance like mowing and even manicuring the bunkers. Played by myself and finished in 2.45 hours. Perfect day for golf.
