They must be preparing for a US Open
There are quite a few quirky holes out here but we knew about them and still decided to make the drive to play. The big problem is/was the height of the rough. Out of control. Our threesome found more than a dozen balls looking for ours. No need for this. All it does is slow-down the pace of play looking for errant shots. Mentioned it to the pro shop guy afterward and he could give a care. All of the water and tricked-up holes makes this place difficult enough….they don’t need this rough issue.
Excellent Course
Beautiful Course. Amazing staff. Bring your course management skills!
Staff was rude, course quality is OK
If you are looking for a fun and relaxing round with some friends, this is not the place to go. The course itself was fine. Good/clean amenities. However, the staff was rude for no reason and that set a negative tone for the round. Additionally, the beverage cart person even inspected our cooler for outside beverages (all we had was ice and beers purchased at the course) on the first hole. It was over the top and a awkward way to start the round.
Target golf
Course was in great shape. Long rough, reasonably quick greens. Fairways and boxes in good shape. Not a big fan of the layout. After playing once, might hit driver 2-3 times at most. Lots of water and natural areas. Locals must know. Found about 15 golf balls looking for ours and no high end balls to be found. Between the rough, water, and overgrown areas I was pretty much done looking for golf balls by 14. Decent layout with a few too many tricked up holes for my taste. Great price for the shape of the course. Just get your hybrids sharp before you go
Nice course, needs a ranger.
Course is in great condition, got held up by a 3 some teeing off 7 balls every hole for the entire back 9. No ranger til 16 after 5 groups were on one tee.
Poor Course Design
The design of this course isn’t very enjoyable. The first 5 holes are virtually surrounded by water on all sides and other holes only have about 20 yards of space between fairway and OB. Additionally, there are many short par 4s that they make you use irons off the tee by throwing water or rough in at natural driving landing spots. Altogether the course never lets you get in a flow making it one I wouldn’t recommend.
Great conditions ,funky layput
The was my first time playing Lost Marsh. The course was in excellent playing condition and the staff was very friendly . The first five holes demand accuracy both off the tee and your approach shots. The course contains a number of blind shots and the rough is long so it plays more difficult if you are not playing from the fairway. I look forward to returning to Lost Marsh.
Great place
Love it each time I play it, if you get past the first five holes without blowing up your score you should have a good round, very challenging.
A Course for real golfers
I love this course. It fits my game perfect. To truly enjoy this course, you need to be a fairway player. The staff is great and always helpful and accommodating.
