J. F. Kennedy Golf Center - Babe Lind/Creek Course
About
The Babe Lind/Creek Course is one of three courses at the J.F. Kennedy Golf Center that can be played in three 18-hole combinations. There is also a great par-3, nine-hole course at the facility. Unlike the West/Creek course, which was designed by Henry Hughes, the Babe Lind/Creek Course was done by another famous golf designer, Dick Phelps, who has done a few other courses in the Denver Area. Opened in 1965, the Babe Lind/Creek is the most popular 18-hole course at J.F. Kennedy Family Golf Center. It offers up to 6,884 yards of golf from its longest tees. The course has large, undulating greens and narrow, tree-lined fairways. Water hazards also come into play on this course.

Creek #9 Tee Photo submitted by nmcnair on 09/05/2014
Need a practice chipping green and nobody likes heading offelt Matt
Grass was a little long but I get it getting ready to plug on Monday
Good Denver Muni
The Lind/Creek combo at Kennedy offers lots of variety and plenty of fun for any golfer.
Lind has wide fairways and massive greens. Getting on in regulation certainly does not guarantee par if you are not in the right spots. There are 2 tough good challenging par 3s on this side and holes 6-7 are a tough combo. There are a few elevated greens that require flying the ball all the way to get on the putting surface. The layout is straight-forward, but challenging.
Creek 9 is significantly more narrow, puting a premium on position as you work your way through a wooded area. There are lots of places to get into trouble, and the greens are much smaller on this side. The 4th hole is a monster dogleg left par 4. Par here any day would be a good score. The par 3s on creek are quite short, 8iron-wedge for most, and the only par 5 (6) is a little funky with a very sharp dogleg left after the tee shot. Hole 9 is a bit controversial, with fairway running out after a downhill tee shot, driver may not be an option for many players. The second shot is uphill across the ravine and plays very long. This is a tough closer that many players do not consider fair.
Kennedy is in a mid summer funk conditions wise. There are several areas that are drying out in the fairways and rough. Greens felt a little mushy and had not been cut recently. They were pretty slow.
All things considered this is still a good value course in the area. Pace of play was good, and I like the layout. aSecuring a tee time is not too difficult. Another enjoyable round at Kennedy.
Hidden Gem
This course is easy to overlook as you consider golfing . It’s close to home and in good shape…I plan to visit more often and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid course!!
Nice Course
The course was in great shape. The rough was pretty grown up. It was hard to spot the ball once it hit the rough. Spent a lot of time looking for the ball in the rough. LOL! But overall it is a great course.
Awesome course
Very different set up compare to other courses in CO. Many blind shots. Beautiful
Challenging and fun
Always enjoy playing the Kennedy courses. Very long for walkers so nowadays I use a cart. The Babe Lind front nine seems a bit more forgiving than the Creek back nine.
nice golf course
Kennedy is a very interesting layout and was in good shape. No complaints!
Good Value
I recently had the opportunity to play Kennedy GC. The front nine is a bit more open and forgiving. While the back 9 plays a lot tighter. With lots of forest and undulating earth. A very scenic and wonderful course. Just be prepared to lose a lot of balls in the think ruff periphery edges. A great value amongst Denver courses.
Great municipal course
Hadn’t played this course in years, but will be sure to visit more often in the future! Course was well maintained with varied layout, staff was very helpful, and round was completed in ~ 4 hours. Greens were recently punched, but otherwise in great shape. Great value.
Very slow play
The course played very slow. This is not the first time this has happened at this course. Someone should be monitoring slow groups like the one in front of us.
