J. F. Kennedy Golf Center - Babe Lind/Creek Course
About
The Babe Lind/Creek Course is one of three courses at the J.F. Kennedy Golf Center that can be played in three 18-hole combinations. There is also a great par-3, nine-hole course at the facility. Unlike the West/Creek course, which was designed by Henry Hughes, the Babe Lind/Creek Course was done by another famous golf designer, Dick Phelps, who has done a few other courses in the Denver Area. Opened in 1965, the Babe Lind/Creek is the most popular 18-hole course at J.F. Kennedy Family Golf Center. It offers up to 6,884 yards of golf from its longest tees. The course has large, undulating greens and narrow, tree-lined fairways. Water hazards also come into play on this course.

Creek #9 Tee Photo submitted by nmcnair on 09/05/2014
Nice public course
Liked the front 9 better than the back. Course I'm good condition.
Golf now didn't get my tee time right!
I was unable to play. I booked my tee time for August 7th and when I got there they said I didn't have a tee time on that date and time. I am not happy they didn't get my time and day right.
Prepare to wait on golfers and greenskeepers
Greenskeepers will be in front of you on every hole if you decide to play in the morning rather than every golfer waiting one time they will jump in front of first group the entire round so everybody has to wait behind first group. Greenskeepers are also very aggressive towards golfers when they enquire about why they keep jumping in front of your group. Don’t play if you gotta be anywhere else that day. They have moved the tee times back now thirty minutes to give them more time and they will still add 20-25 minutes to every round you play in the morning. Customer service of entire course is the biggest issue good area and four courses including par three course. Have played this course 20 times this summer been an issue all year will be finding a new course because it doesn’t matter when you start the you will wait on belligerent maintenance staff
New Favorite of Denver Munis
Had a great time playing at Kennedy. The two nines are dramatically different in design and style which makes for a fun round. There is really something for everyone.
Opening on Babe Lind, this 9 is pretty straight forward classic layout. After a few easy starting holes the course feels like it plays long and tough. Holes 6 and 7 will give you all that you can handle. Look for a minimum of 180 in on your second over the creek on 6 with a perfect drive. 7 is a big time par 5 over 600 yards playing to an elevated green.
The Babe Lind side has wide fairways so there is plenty of room out there to hit driver and get away with some mistakes off of the tee. The greens on this side are huge, you may find yourself hitting quite a few of them in regulation, but get ready for some tough 2 putts if you are not hitting the right part of the surface.
Moving over to Creek the style of course makes a dramatic shift. Creek offers tighter fairways, rolling mounds, and much smaller green complexes winding through the trees. It's beautiful out there.
There is only one par 5 on the Creek 9, but hole 4 plays about as long as any par 4 I have played. Players are forced to make good decisions off the tee on this 9, which is a bit shorter than Babe Lind, but definitely has less room for errors.
The courses at Kennedy are in good shape. The greens, while not very fast are rolling good and are smooth. The pace of play was great, we were able to finish in under 4 hours. The only drawback to the facility is the mats on the driving range. I'd always prefer to hit off of grass, but not an option here.
With a great variety of holes in a beautiful setting Kennedy is in my opinion the best of the Denver munis. I will definitely be making more trips to this course in the future.
Great course for the price, a little slow pace
Would recommend for the price. Really a nice course, just a little slow pace of play when I was there.
Greens are Green
Played twice in the last month and the course is in great shape and the grounds crew has done a great job tending the conditions. Definitely recommend playing the Creek 9, as its the most appealing of the 9-hole pairings they have.
Course review
Long course and two different nines. LORRAINE seems to be a bit low for the toughness of the course
Golf course Is close I need my money back I hope you guys don’t charge my credit cards
Good course, couple comments
Got a really good deal on my 18 with a cart so I checked out Kennedy - never been here before. Had a nice time with my group and course was in good shape. Only negative was with the pro shop staff. I entered to check in where there were a number of employees behind the counter but was not greeted or acknowledged for a number of minutes. Once checked in I wasn’t directed where to go for the cart or tee off - I figured it out. Just a weird experience. Also, playing as a single the starter told me that if I didn’t want to ride share I’d have to pay extra for my cart. I had not run into that before.
I think I’ll give Kennedy another shot especially since it’s just down the street from Lenny’s Golf
