First time here
The course played very nicely. I played along, and only encountered "traffic" at the 14th hole.
The most challenging were the holes that required a long carry to cross hazards. The 8th hole over water is a beautiful one.
Definitely would return if I'm in that part of NH again.
Played in 3 hours on a course that was in great condition. I can't wait to return.
Great Course
This course is fun to play. Plenty of challenges along the way. Overall a great course that's in really great shape for this time of year.
Never disappoints
Played here multiple times. Nice course with great value. The course was in decent shape for the time of year. Greens were in great condition. I’ll be back again!!
An excellent early season course to shake off the cob webs
We like it here. Make the drive from Boston a few times a year, not bad about 45 minutes. We like to get out here early in the season because it is good value and the course is forgiving, but forces you to make shots.
All Par 3s are reachable and the Par 5s will force most hitters to manage and get there in 3. I put the driver away on the front 9 and do not bring it out until the stretch of Par 4s and 5s on the late back 9.
What keeps me coming back is the experience I have with the staff. They have been absolutely nothing but wonderful and accommodating and always welcome me back specifically when hearing we made the drive from Boston.
I tell my friends about this place and take them here early in every season; and we usually make the trip back out during peak once or twice.
Had a good time walking the course with three friends. The only part that is tough is long walk to 1st tee and after 18th to clubhouse.
Disappointing Saturday Operations
Over 5 hours is unacceptable, especially when there appears to be plenty of people working yet nobody rangering. On top of the slow play we were only 3 minutes early because no driving range which led to stern taking to. Bunkers were pretty bad, tee boxes where awful. The worst part by far was the cart’s straps which kept coming undone because they were so worn. At one point my bag fell over chipping my TS3. Unfortunate because I’ve had better experiences here.
Fall golf was not a deal
I have played here a half dozen times. The last two have not been very good experiences. Had a 10:50am tee time on Sunday, and the first tee was backed up with two groups in front of us. The course was using temporary tee boxes, where on some holes it so slick and uneven, the footing was difficult. But the worst part was all the leaves on the course, not only in the fairways and bunkers, but On The Green. These were not scattered leaves, there were piles of oak leaves. When I called the clubhouse, the response was there was a nor’easter the day before and they would not be blowing leaves off the course on a Sunday morning. Not a deal! Will spend my golf money elsewhere where they pay a little more attention to the course.
Granite Fields
Fun, challenging course. Just need to be aware that they are working on the tee boxes so tee boxes were on the fairway. Also had recently aerated some of greens. Golf now price including convenience fee was slightly higher than the senior rate so need to check that out next time before using GolfNow.
Average
First time playing, got a good deal. Course wasn't bad, but tee boxes and greens were a little rough and pace of play was very slow (~5 hours).
Pace of play was horrible
So I started at 12:45, there was a foursome of older gentleman playing. We finished at 5:45. Worst pace of play ever and it was a weekday. The ranger did nothing to speed them up or let us pass. Just a very frustrating day. Could not get any rhythm going. These guys were dicking around, and searching for balls constantly. I won’t be going back unless they make it a point of pace of play.
Done for the year
I normally love this course. Played it a few times this year. It was in great shape every time except this time. Tee boxes were full of crab grass or no grass at all. Greens were all sandy. I’ll come back next season.
Hello blam558, thank you for taking the time to review us, Granite Fields Golf Club, and for the 3 stars. We appreciate your dedication to playing our course over the years but are very sorry to hear your recent experience with us may have been poor due to the course conditions. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding the tee boxes and greens and will use it to make the necessary improvements. well worth it
We got warning they aerated the greens, which definitely stole some birdie putts, but it's ok. This course is challenging but fun. There's no cookie cutter holes, each is different and has it's own challenges. Very unique
I've played here about a dozen times, I love playing there and the deals you just cant beat. The ONLY problem here is the tee boxes. No matter what time of season I play, they are awful. That being said, i'd still keep playing there
Tee box
There were little grass at tee box. Otherwise very good to us.
Great scenic course
Great scenic course with some very cool blind uphill and downhill shots. Super staff!
Good place to work on your game.
Local, nice people. Course is generally in great shape.
