Great deal
Greens were great, fairways were good, staff was friendly and helpful, course is challenging. Tees could use a little TLC.
I'd aerate and top dress them. I'll be back.
Nice conditions, slow pace
This course is close to my house, and is a nice challenging course. I got a great deal on GN, and headed out for a Sunday round.
The course was in very good conditions. Other than a little work needed on a few of the Tee boxes, I have no complaints.
The pace of play was very slow. 5.5 hours for 18 holes is a bit much even for a Sunday
Must play
What a great, challenging, and fun course, must check it out. Friendliest staff ever. Will play again.
Great fun course with lots of challenges
Amazing time at this course, right from the beginning the starter makes you feel at home, giving you tips, offering water bottles. Hazards on 12 out of 18 holes make this course a great thinking type of golf.
First time played and looking forward to playing again.
I've wanted to play Granite Fields for some time but I somehow managed to avoid it over the years. This is unfortunate as I really enjoyed my first round and I'll definitely be returning. Price is reasonable and the layout is more modern than other area courses. It's apparent that the course has suffered from rough weather over the past year but the places that matter most - fairways, greens, and bunkers were all in very good shape. The rough was inconsistent and there were a lot of patchy areas that will take time to mend.
The Course itself is enjoyable with some interesting holes that ask you to lay up or pay the price for missing. It plays pretty tight for those who may hit long and more sideways than straight. On the other hand it doesn't really feel too long. From the whites an average hitter playing well and hitting straight has a solid chance at reaching in regulation on most holes however the few but very well placed bunkers may prevent that. The paths between holes can be prohibitively long for walkers and I imagine this can cause some delay but we did not experience that. We cruised right along on a Sunday afternoon with very little wait time. Staff was awesome and super friendly and helpful at every encounter. Overall, it was a beautiful day and I'll be happy to return!
Level course with mostly forced carries
Played a couple weekday rounds here in the past few weeks. Most holes require a shot over water or tall weeds. Greens and traps are well maintained. Fairways and rough are mostly "firm" so allow for roll overs. Senior discount, $2 dogs in the clubhouse, free bottled water on 1 and 11.
Take a right at Daher Motors
This course is part of a housing development and I would assume still a very young course. When it matures it will be a very good course. Elevation changes, blind shots ,forced carries and forced layups. It's a very interesting course that you need to play a few times to really know it. The greens were very nice and a little quick for me .They have moved the clubhouse to a new building so it;s not fair to judge the amenities. It's a work in progress, but the end result will be a very good place to play. On Route 125 when you see Daher Motors on the left, take the right right then.
Pleasantly surprised...
A more interesting, challenging and better kept course than I was expecting. The biggest downside is the length of the walk between the club house and the first tee, then again from the 18th hole back to your car. Take a cart!
A couple if the holes on the back 9 are quirky and seem a bit out of place, but overall an interesting course.
Good local course
I have been playing this course for years, every year the maturity of the course and the improvements make it better. The hot deals make it the best golf around for the money.
Fun course
First time playing and I hope to get back there this fall.
Decent Course
So this is not a top tier course, but it is not bad if you can get a deal here. I had played many years ago. They have no range anymore since houses went in where it was, just a net, which to me is not good. The greens were in pretty good shape, but some of the fairways were nothing more than beat up rough. They just opened a new clubhouse which has limited supplies. Work in progress, I will give it another shot but, definitely needs some work.
Challenging round, fun track!
First time playing the course.... harder than I expected! A great test of golf from the tips. The course had recently aerated so conditions we not perfect, but outside of that this was a fun round, and for this area its one of the best deals you can find. Can't wait to go back!
You get what you pay for. The price is good but the course needs some attention. The greens are fine but the fairways are terrible. You hit in the fairway and you need to find a nice patch of grass to hit from. Traps are never raked. Hard as clay. I hope when the pro starts he can have a look at this. It has potential to be very nice.
