Canterbury Woods Country Club

This course has basically lost all their fairways, possibly to drought. Greens were fine and medium speed. Many great views. Interesting holes and extreme elevation changes. Could be among best in state but wait until next year and hope they can grow some fairway grass in the meantime.

Played on a beautiful fall day and the colors and views were majestic. I could not stop taking pictures. Was in town for a meeting and snuck out to play. This course is fun - and challenging - from the first hole! The greens had recently been punched and were fast, smooth, and challenging. If I lived here I would never tire of playing this course. Also, everyone in the shop was super nice. They had their challenges with water this year due to the drought so we played "winter rules" in the fairway. Don't be put off by the view of the hole from the road - they wisely maintained/watered the important areas - tees, greens, fairway landing areas. Tip - you may want to play 1 tee forward of your normal yardage as this course has some very tight driving areas - really fun - will be back!

Golfer’s beware. The pace of play on this course is atrocious. The foursome ahead of us on the front 9 had a small dog with them that joined them on the green...yes a dog. Our threesome got through 14 holes in 3:50min on a Saturday afternoon and drove off. When speaking to the staff afterwards and addressing the dog that was on the course, I was told “oh that’s a member that brings his dog sometimes.” We were offered no apology and no rebate.

As far as the course goes, the layout is very fun and challenging but the fairways are completely dry and the grass is dead.

Once again the course wins. It’s undefeated and undisputed. Conditions were excellent. Greens did what they were supposed to do (make my putting average go up). Green conditions were excellent with plenty of speed. I’ve played this course a few times a year for the past few years. I will keep coming back.

Played for the first time in awhile. The drought has dried out many of the fairways and around some of the greens so yardage wise it was playing a bit shorter but because of the firmness it was very challenging around the greens. The greens were perfect but very fast. If you were pin high or above the hole, putting was difficult. Overall pace of play was very good. The only weakness of the course is the driving range. It feels like it has been forgotten or neglected. The balls are old and worn. If the range were to improve overall it would be top notch

I love this course but it has become very dry in the fairways which impacts play. Hard ground and the balls got crazy roles. Pace of play was pretty slow.

It has been a hot dry summer and the fairways and rough were burnt out and hard as a rock. The greens were pretty.nice and fast. The course has a lot of blind shots and side slopes. Target placement of shots is a must--you can stripe one down the center of a fairway and have your ball run off the side and into.the woods. Or you can.push or pull .it into the woods and wind up in the middle of the fairway! There is just way too much reliance on luck to make this course a fair golf challenge. Very pretty views, though not really a golf course to enjoy.

Fairways are very dry they need rain but greens are still very good but hard to read

96 Degrees mid day ... but such a nice and challenging track. Really nice views and enough breeze to make the hottest day of the year tolerable ...

Rain was predicted, but it only sprinkled a little. Course is in beautiful shape. Rough is tough, as it should be, so stay in the fairway.
Staff in the pro shop very friendly and so was the starter Paul. Can hardly wait to go back.

I played this course a few times this summer. Earlier in the summer it was in pretty good shape. Just played it on September 10th and it is in very poor condition. Extremely dry and dead fairways. although many courses in New England are dry this is the worst place that I have played all summer. Hopefully next year they'll figure it out but this year don't waste your money.
