Awesome layout, fairways in somewhat rough shape but playable. Definitely worth playing at least once for the sawgrass and amen corner holes if you can get it at a decent rate considering the condition.
Don’t waste your money!
This course has gone downhill. It is at best, a $25 muni course and not the $64 off season course it used to be. Most of the traps are washed out and those that aren’t, we’re holding 3 feet of water. Even those that didn’t have water had sand that was mostly rocks or clay. The fairways were a mix of patchy grass and straight dirt for a number of holes. What good is hitting the fairway when it’s just dirt? They are not even trying to resod anything or reseed anything. Just total disregard for the consumer experience. The worst part is they don’t tell you any of this when you check in. They need to find a new owner who will invest in this course or just shut it down. What a complete disaster and joke of a golf course. I can’t believe the PGA would even certify something like this poor excuse for a golf course.
Awful - don’t waste your money!
Never been more disappointed in the demise of what once was a beautiful golf course!
Unplayable
With all of the rain the day before I fully understand why the course was cart path only, however many of the fairway did not have any turf, as well as, the tee boxes. The course was solid mud and should have been deemed unplayable. Almost every trap had water ponded and many of the fairway were underwater. I feel like this should have been acknowledged when I checked in and was given a decision to either play as described or given a rain check. It was a waste of $180.00.
Fantastic
Great layout! Perfect pace of play, staff in Pro-Shop and restaurant were top notch!!
Not what it used to be
Fairways are gone - like gone gone. They don't exist anymore it's sad. Used to be a great course - won't be going back anytime soon until someone is brave enough to spend the $ and find out if there's grass again.
Good Day
Had a good round. Course was in good shape for this time of year. Pace of play was slow, but understandable due to the great weather.
Would not recommend
Everything about corse conditions ruined the experience. The cart paths are torn up, and rough might as well had just been gravel. The fairways are burnt up and are full of divots and gravel and sand there were in very rough shape. The bunkers have concrete, trash, and gravel in them and they are hard as a rock went they weren’t completely washed out. The layout of the course is alright it is a long ride from hole to hole on the back 9. Greens look like they haven't been watered and are brown. Every green also had two empty pallets lying in the field of play. When asked about the shape the course is in the staff claims they had a hard summer but a course less than 30 miles away is perfect. The Marshall was not polite considering we had newer golfers in our group. They claimed they had complimentary pulled pork sandwiches but then make you pay 5$ for them. The cart girls were nice and well stocked which is about the only great thing about the course.
Great course
This is my favorite course in DFW. It’s better than the Dallas cowboys golf course and the Texas rangers golf course. The staff was very nice. The greens are the best I have ever played.
Very enjoyable
What a beautiful course. Yes there are some brown patches but not enough to get all emotional over. Summer was brutal on north Texas courses and apparently Tour 18 had a water well fail over the summer. The greens are in beautiful condition. The holes were challenging and so much fun. It was a great experience to play some of the most renowned holes in golf. The staff are all great all in a beautiful setting. The flock of geese landing in the lake on #3 was just a nice addition to this beautiful course.
Tour 18
Definitely not worth the $100 green fee. Majority of fairways are dirt. Hit it in the fairway pick the ball up go find a patch of grass throw it down and play from there. Not worth the effort or money! Unless you want to throw a Benjamin down the drain I would suggest playing River Chase same conditions but $60 less expensive.
course condition
I have played this course several times before, however, on 11/16, the condition of the course was in terrible condition, half of the fairway was all torn up, and it felt like hitting on the dirt.
