First round played in Ireland

Lovely course with beautiful surroundings. Greens excellent. Course gets very soft quickly when it rains and footing can be slippery. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our experience.

Great value quality golf course

Played a lonesome but enjoyable round at Dargan Castle course. The greens were in Brilliant condition and played great. As good as Ballyliffin this time of year. The fairways were a little damp in places but we'll worth a visit.

Good layout...very wet

Course in good nick and nice layout with some great holes. Index 1 and hole after it...a driveable par 4 were 2 lovely holes. Greens in good nick but slow on the day..that's ok for a month morning. Fairways verythromycin wet in places and lost couple of plugged balls in fairway and semi. Price of 12 euro was great but would have been disappointed if we had paid more with how wet the place was.
Would look forward to playing again in high summer.
Only people on course so 18 holes in 3 hours for 2 of us!

Fair weather
Walked

Could be really good

A super design with a great range of holes to suit all abilities. Nice pace and true roll on the greens. The one problem is the land does not drain the rain that has fallen and we played in the summer(normal Irish summer). This course may not be worth playing in winter. Besides the drainage well worth a try.

Lovely parkland course

I have played this course before and find it a fabulous course in lovely surroundings. I understand that this year has been very wet, however the fairways were very long and difficult to determine where the rough started and where the fairway ended, including a lot of daiseys which made it difficult to see your ball even in the middle of the fairway. This is the only reason for not giving 5 stars everywhere. The greens were in fantastic condition and a pleasure to putt on. I highly recommend this course but only if there has been a good spell of dry weather.

Great course, Great Value

Nice parkland course. Great value for money, and is a good test with some long Par 4's. Course in very good condition and greens decent considering time of year. Definitely recommend

Great summer course ...

Really liked some of the layouts and there's no doubt that its a challenging course. However, it was extraordinarily wet under foot so every ball plugged (even in the rough!) and many, many balls were lost as a result even if they did land on the fairway.

When this course is dry, I would say its a pleasure to play it. Unfortunately, we played it when the fairways were at their worst.

On a positive note, the greens were in very good condition.
