Rockwood Golf Course

This course was wet and muddy the whole day. It's been raining for a while this spring, but it's clearly an old course. Mesquitos infested the outhouses and it wasn't even worth the 20$ it cost to play. Maybe if it was dried out the 20$ wouldn't have been bad.

This is a good challenging course. The day we went it had rained very heavily the night before so there were a few extra water hazards. We still had a fun day. The food at the grill is great and the young girl prepared it quickly and tasted great. One of the best burgers around. Grab some friends and try it out.

I will never play here again, the fairways looked like most people's back yards with very little grass and lots of weeds. They had a cart path only which was very inconvenient especially because the course was in horrible condition anyway we could've driven monster trucks on the fairways and it wouldn't of made him look worse than they looked before. We did not know it was cartpath only on the first hole, because they had a sign up that said 90° rule, but when we entered the Roff to try and find a ball we were scolded very harshly by the Marshall. When we explain to the Marshall that no one told us in the pro shop that it was cartpath only, and that the sign on the first hole only said 90° rule he was just as rude, and tried to make us feel like jerks. If I hadn't driven 40 minutes to play that course for the first time, I would have sacrificed my $20 and gone to a different course. I will be sure and tell anyone that asks me about this course never to play it, and I will volunteer to make sure to tell everyone never to play that course.

For the money, this course is awesome! Some nice scenery. There are 4 or 5 holes that are just straight 400 td holes, but all of the greens are in great shape. I highly recomemd, especially for a municipal course.

Staff very nice the greens in there best shape in a couple of years.The fairways are getting better only took 3hrs to play and cost me 10 bucks on golfnow.Had a good time for the money!

This is an old course built in the '30s. Good layout with mature trees but not densely wooded so you're not likely to loose any balls. City owned and may not get the necessary budget to keep it in tip top condition but the greens -for dead of winter - were in very good condition and very sloped to make it a challenge. Very few bunkers or hazards. Enjoyed the fact that it was a very walkable course and allowed push carts.

Fairways need lots of help - mostly ant hills! Tee boxes and greens are OK. I was irked when grounds crew came by with leaf blowers and blew leaves onto the fairway while we were playing. Probably wont go back.

It's in good condition for this time of year. I like the price and the huge trees and leaves everywhere . Lots of fun to play it. Just a lot of beginners that slow things down maybe a Marshall would help.

Course was in good shape, we were not rushed and really enjoyed our round oh golf!

Fairways in terrible shape, mediocre greens. 9th green is located near the parking lot full of golf students. One bad. Shot could result in someone or a car getting nailed. No water coolers at tee boxes. Only a dirty old water fountain. Cart girl had almost no food to offer either. Never going back

Beginner course, pretty easy, not a lot of water hazards.

The course was beautiful and the staff was friendly. Excellent service from the cart girl and the weather was perfect! The only complaint is that the club house needs more items for sale

The longest day of golf ever ! After we had waited almost an hour to tee off even though our tee time was 9:22 we had to skip the first hole because there was simply too many people waiting after being continuously in line for every hole at least three groups per hole we had to give up after a 4.5 hour 9 hole game well technically 8 there were no marshals or course managers and the staff was seemingly indifferent about the guests complaints I would never return nor recommend anyone to this course again

Course wide open ,even in other fairway. Staff extremely fair did not charge for rental golf clubs and good clubs to boot! Course average just to get out for a round of golf. If your are looking for a lush course this is not the one. Great practice course.

If you can play early and get a "deal" its really a value to play this course. The problems we encountered were no marshals to push slow play, and beginners with little to no golf etiquette. Could have played in 3 hr 45 min took us almost 5 hr.

I enjoyed the course,, but several of the holes had temporary greens in use because of the dry conditions during this summer and were difficult to putt on. The grounds were well maintained.

If you like waiting before every shot, then this is the course for you. At our tee time around 7 in the morning, the backlog on One was already three parties deep. Twenty minutes later we finally tee off and are met with the first of four temp greens. To top it off, due to the frustration of all it seems, a fight was witnessed on another green.

Overall, a horrible experience. Will not be back!

greens are shot. 4 temp greens...fairways dry and cracked. Worth 10 bucks to practice rather than hit a bucket of balls. greens were aerated and sanded. Course needs lots of work.

a few temp greens but regular greens in good shape. Fairways getting a little brown but not problem. Reserved tee time online and indicated play 2nd nine twice. Got to play all 18 however. Always a fun course. Played it many times.
