Highland Green Golf Club in Topsham is a Scottish-style links course that is nestled within Maine's first adult resort community that has been ranked as one of the country's top 100 master planned communities. The spacious nine-hole golf course takes advantage of the club's 650-acre expanse across mid-coast Maine. Rather than removing them, the design incorporated the rocky outcroppings and natural ridgelines, which helped it to blend seamlessly with the rugged natural landscape. Like a true links course, the layout features contoured mounding, rolling fairways, and small, crowned greens. A few water hazards also come into play. Don't let the fact that it's only nine holes fool you, Highland Green Golf Club will test your shot-making skills in addition to requiring the use of every club in your bag.

Greens were in excellent shape, but tricky.

A nice course. The greens were in very good shape. Some were difficult to see the breaks, but speed was consistent. One fairway was very wet (plugged ball), but most were very good. A few sand traps had small stones. All in all, a good place to play.

Great Par 3's Challenging Fun Course

A hidden GEM. A true test for the Low Handicap but also very playable for the older golfer. Fairways are always in Great Shape and the Layout is a Great Risk Reward. Easy to find Certainly worth the stop and the Wild Duck Pub is a good exclamation point.

Unkept Greens

Putting on these greens weren't the greatest some were slow, and others were wicked fast. Most of the greens at Highland Green had dirt on them and the grass not growing to what I expected. A downfall is that it's only a 9 hole course when we thought it was an 18 hole course that said on the website they had 18 holes. I guess I miss interpreted that somehow. Other than that it had nice layouts but very narrow.

Hello, Cameron:

We wanted to make sure we addressed your concerns, because we've been hearing nothing but rave reviews about the consistency and condition of the greens at Highland Green all season long. "Dirt on the greens" is also something that no one else reported on the day that you played (Saturday afternoon). As for the 18 hole/9 hole confusion, you may have been looking at text indicating a price for playing 18 holes-- but the home page of the Highland Green website does lead with a statement that the club is a 9-hole facility. We'd certainly like more details about your experience-- feel free to email us
