Honor's Haven Resort & Spa

This classic Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design used to be one of the best 9 hole tests in the region. Hate to report negative news, but you will be disappointed in the condition. Very sad to see. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are all in disrepair. Even the small bathroom by the 4th green & 5 tee box had it's doors taped closed. Only good news to report is that the greens have been recently aerated, but they still need much more attention as every one is severely damaged.

The grounds were in horrible condition. They were cutting the grass in the rough while we were playing. The grass had not been cut in some time and there was long loose grass everywhere. It seems that they just don't care about this course. There were 5 of us playing and when we asked if we could play together they chuckled and said "That shouldn't be a problem" It wasn't we had the place to ourselves. This was probably the worst course I have ever played. You could lose a ball 3 inches off the fairway the course was so poorly maintained. Skip this one and go to Roundout a little further north.

This course is in very very sad shape due to the new owners who don't care about the course, only the hotel/resort next to it. it probably was very nice in 1950

Good course for beginners and practice
Played month before course was better, this time not cut and too many bugs could be because had rain couple of days before

this was once THE BEST 9 hole course. now the greens are not even puttable. there is no grass in fairways, just crabgrass. forget bunkers. are they grass bunkers or sand? paid $20 for 9 holes. they should pay us to play, that's how bad

Another course that has fallen victim to lack of funds. Ninth green in need of repair, most ball cleaners don't hold water, never any water to drink on course, fairways need more watering during dryer periods, tee boxes in need of maintenance, and they need a ranger to roam the course. I talked to someone at the course and all the problems are do to lack of funds. This course was and still can be a great 9 hole.

Nice course, unfortunately, they were out of carts and we were 45 minutes late getting out. The staff was very upset about the cart situation and provided free sodas and water, also comped us for another round. Course in nice shape except for some of their traps which were hard and needed some new sand. Greens, fairways and tees were good, and there are some challenging holes. Pretty slow play on Father's Day, but a nice day in the country. Not much in the way of refreshments.

Played here for the 1st time with my wife and 2 boys (13 and 9). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Course is in great shape and greens in excellent condition. It was a long trip for us from Westchester but well worth it. We'll definitely be returning.
