Early in the Season
Greens were slower than usual but it was April 22nd. The day we played was windy and cold which made for a much tougher course. The second hole got me again !!!
To expensive this time of year
54$ is to expensive this time of year when half the greens were freshly air rated and had sand/seeding on them. Other than the price the course is very nice during summer.
Nice round.
Tricky course in very good shape. Best public course I could find in the Ottawa area. Used all the clubs in my bag. Unfortunately, left all my head covers at the course, but that was on me.
The Marshes & Marshals.
Great course and should be on everyone list in Ottawa. Our group was playing on time, but put on the clock on the 3rd hold. Then told to play the front nine again instead of the back nine on the 4th hole. We were not even provided an opportunity to try and play quicker. We were not slow by any means, all decent golfers (6 to 16 hdcp) the marshals follow you around, and drive up beside you and talk during your swing. Very annoying, and rude.
Not impressed
Snobby people. Not a good vibe of you know what I mean
Slow at times
Really silly design but great shape. Some inconsistencies in green speed but other than that a fun day. Rangers need to actually do something, with so many par 5's and par 3's it really slow down especially when average Joe goes for the green in two and slices his 2nd shot into the woods about 170 yards
Take the advise given on course 'booklet'
Really enjoyed this course as I was visiting Ottawa. I would definitely play here again. The par 3s were not that difficult, but the par 5s made up for this! Really liked the 2nd hole, even if my drive ended up in the water.
The marshes, a bit pricey but worth it
Course in excellent condition. Very friendly staff.
Nice Course
Very similar to the expensive courses in Toronto and the regulate rate is just as expensive. Golf Now deal made it good value. Some nice holes, especially the long par 5 second and the short par 3 8th (at the base of Brookstreet hotel), some throw away holes, some that I still can't figure out how to play but that makes it interesting. Conditions are always nice and free range and bottle of water at the start was a nice touch. Considering you are in the middle of Kanata between high tech companies it's still a recommended track.
nice course but not worth $120 green fee
We were told to play this course if we were in the Ottawa Area. Regular green fee is $120/ player (cart included-but we managed to strike a deal through GolfNow @ $58/ player cart included). Exceptional service from the bag drop guys to the pro shop staff, starter and beverage cart girl. Although the beer was cold it was fairly expensive....3 beers for $24 (not including tip). Other than that, the round was very enjoyable. The layout was unique...18 holes featuring 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. I'm a 10 handicap was told to play from the white tee...6000+ yards. I found it a bit less challenging as all the par 3's were basically between 100-120 yards...wedges for the most part. I should have played from the blue tees...6400+ yards. The course was in good shape....greens were very soft but ran true with speeds similiar to my home course...about 10 on the stimp. Fairways were very forgiving with generous landing areas and greens were large and had fair amount of undulation. We had a foursome in front of us (we were only 2) but the marshal kept things going smoothly and we rarely had more than a 2-3 minute wait per hole. There were 3 bathroom spots on the course. Beverage cart was around 5 times during our round. Pro shop was well stocked and clubhouse was very comfy. I would recommend playing this course if you can get a deal...I don't feel it's worth $120 per player but if you want a nice course with good views then play the Marshes!
Marshes has seen better days
Got a great deal on golf now to play The Marshes, first time in a few years to have played it.
When played before it was pristine, a jewel of a course however this time the three of us playing were very glad we got a deal or it would have not been worth it
Sand traps were hard poorly raked
Greens fluffy ball marked like crazy as if no one knew you are to fix them
The overall look had gone down
Great staff, wonderful marshal etc but a disappointment to us all
The marshes July 9, 2015
The course is in great shape. The fairways are like carpeting, a pleasure to play. The green were fast with subtle undulations, 41 putts for my round. A pleasure to play!!
The staff were all very pleasant and courteous . Thanks for a pleasant experience !
Excellent
Très bonne condition du terrain. Il y a un beau défi et de très bonnes distances pour les longs cogneurs.
Would only play when green fess are discounted
Marshes has slipped over the years from being a premier golf course to simply an adequate golf course with great location. Played this course 10 years ago when in their prime; now, no GPS, carts are not electric, service is not great. I would not pay over $60 to play. Deals on golf now would make me return.
The Marshes
Course was in very good shape except for the greens. The greens had been punched so putting was an adventure!!
best shape in the past 4 years
it was overcast and rain threatend but we played in 3.5 hrs
course is fun and challenging
Great round!
Played with my son....didn't get paired with anybody else which was great. Showed up early so the marshall let us tee off 30 minutes early with nobody behind us and the foursome up ahead on the green. Excellent condition, relaxed round finished in 3'45".
good day
Always nice to get a round in at the marshes, will definitely go back,
