Always good
You have to be able to move the ball, plenty of tight shots and there are some risk/rewards holes as well as blind shots. Tee boxes can bee better, more of an even surface, fairways are always in great shape and the greens are even better. No driving range but practice putting green is a great indication of what to expect, layout is fun and you will not get bored, holes are very different. Very little water and the bunkers are more of a target than hazards, they really are irrelevant here. Par 3s are short on average and you will be tempted to go for the green on the par 5s if you're able to catch one off the tee, the 13th being your best shot with the helping stadium-like surroundings. Treat #5, 8, 15 and 16 with respect off the tee as well as the approach, these holes can eat your lunch.
I've never seen a cart girl out there but then again it's a munie, kitchen can use the most improvement but food is not bad.
Overall, I can tell you that I keep coming here because it just feels right, keeps my decision making and mental game sharp.
Course Inwood shape, challenging layout with lots of elevation change. Could do more to move the slow groups along.
DO NOT PLAY!!
Insanely slow pace, 2 1/2 and didn’t even get to finish 9, we told the marshal named “Richard” and he said the person slowing down the entire course was a “cop” so it’s okay. He then told us if we have any issues to contact a guy at a completely different course and to complain to him? Awful experience.
Beginner Experience
First time playing with some buddies and played a scramble. We took extremely long but it was a lot of fun. There was some rules we were not aware of like each play has to have a bag but besides that it was a lot of fun.
Great Value
Was skeptical when I saw the walking rate but the course is in good shape. They don't have many carts which is why they encourage the walking rate. It is not the easiest of walks, however. Good value...and a very good layout in good shape. I recommend this one!
Bad shape
Fairways are very hard and patchy, despite plenty of rain. Greens are slow and very poor condition. Course is fairly challenging, but made worse by poor conditions.
Challenging
The course is isn't great. Being a fairly new golfer it is challenging me.
Great
The course is in great shape. The greens are large and fast. A great challenge.
Classico
It'll take time for this gem to get back to shape for the summer. Greens were soft and slowly taking form.
Course looks easy, and always plays tough.
A Classic City Roller of a course.
Enjoyed
The course is in great shape. I walked the course this time and if you want to get in great shape this is your course.
Suspect at best
Okay, I'll start with a disclaimer: this course is scheduled to be closed in September 2023 for a much needed renovation.
That said, Meadowbrook is a true goat track! They barely do anything to maintain the facility (except for the men's bathroom in the so-called "clubhouse " which is very clean). The grounds are generally untidy with debris everywhere. The tee boxes are so bad that they would be better off just putting out some mats to hit from!
Like I said, I know they're planning a renovation but seriously? And to make it worse this facility (like so many others in DFW offering crap conditions) charges regular full price rates! What a joke on me!
I also heard a staff member say that they actually even ran out of hot dogs and buns. Really? Plan ahead much for business? Again, what a joke...on me...and on you if you go.
