Great course for the price... fun course with some challenging holes.
Fun day for all!
One of Fort Worths Classics
After learning how to play on this course 30 years ago, I recently visited after 20 years. This FW classic is often overlooked, and a true value (<$35 before 4pm, <$15 after). Earlier reviews gave the greens harsh remarks, after playing the past two weeks, they have rebounded and are on good shape. Due to covid-19, and not being able to get off at my regular course, I decided to give it try. I'm happy to report I've played 4 times here in the past two weeks. You could go spend 2X the money elsewhere, but this course is an exceptional value. Onsite personnel couldn't be more friendly, and supportive. Do yourselves (and your wallet) a favor and give it a try. Just please dont tell to many of your friends, (I'm enjoying the 3 hour rounds).
Sad Course Makes Mad Golfer
I played this course awhile back and thought it was very good. It is far from that today I guess the city of Fort Worth is looking to close this course like Sycamore Creek by not properly maintaining it. After a week of rain these fairways are dry to the bone with barely any grass, the greens have patches of dead grass and sand spots. Weeds everywhere and overgrowth right off the fairways with lots of ankle biting bugs. The city of Fort Worth should be ashamed to take money for this course and ashamed of how they are running a once nice course into the ground. If my city can’t run a golf course makes me wonder what else they are screwing up!!!
Never Again
I only played 5 holes. No Marshall at the course so at me appointment tee time there was a 3 and 2 player group in front of me. No attempt to manage the pace of play. After 5 I tried to skip to hole 10 but ran into golfers that told me they were backed up too. Also course has alot of topography so once you hit you can't see the ball land. So unless you hit straight, prepare for lots of lost balls.
Never Again
Great value city course
Great value. Course is in good shape greens have a some small bare spots but other than that are good. Biggest down side is no driving range.
Should just be private
Members run the course and whine about public players. Try to claim you hit them with a drive in a total other fairway just to try and get you removed. Course in terrible shape anyways, left after 12 holes to save our irons.
Not a bad lil course
The course itself is very nice and challenging for the beginner/average golfer. Price is good, cart is a lil pricy, but reasonable. VERY short staffed. First time playing there, so I don't know if progress is in process. Golf shop has VERY little to offer. Grill has very little to offer. The refreshment cart was VERY limited on food/drinks, etc. The course itself is good, but the "amenities" need a LOT of improvement.
Better than I expected!
I had minimal expectations about this course but wow... I really enjoyed playing here! Conditions were good on the fairways and the greens and I was shocked at how much fun it was because of the layout and pace of play! Definitely going to play it again!
Hills for days
Walking this course was a great workout, but know that the hills are intense at times. It’s a beautiful course, but a challenging layout your first time playing it as the elevation changes make it difficult to know exactly where to hit it.
Good Layout.
Tough to walk but overall it offers some good challenges. Course is short but have enough long par 4 and par 3 to make it interesting.
Course was in perfect shape. Soft fairways and true rolling greens. Second time on the course and both times have been great. I will be back.
