About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019. There are plans for converting the land into a park.
Originally built in 1932, this longtime 9-hole favorite has been beloved by downtowners for ages because of its central location. The city purchased the course in 1977 and expanded the original 36 acres to 92 in the early 1990s. The remodel involved opening up the fairways and enlarging the greens. Trees and bunkers were added to give the old track even more character.
No. 1 is notable for its elevated tee, playing down to the fairway about 30 feet below. And No. 8 is the only par 5, a welcome birdie opportunity for the low handicapper.
Getting there : From Fort Worth, take Hwy. 287 north. The course is located just off 287 between Riverside and Vickery, on the right hand side.

Nice course for the price
Generally when I see a course that only charges $20.00 for a round of golf my expectations aren't very high. But the course delivers. It is only a 9 hole course with 2 different set of tee boxes so that when you play 18 you get a different perspective even though the green is the same. Fairways were decent and the greens were true. For the money this is a great course. You can find nicer courses but you will pay much more. I will be playing this course again.
Great rainy day
Decided to try this course even though light drizzle and mist wS forecast for the day. Had a wonderful time as we were outfitted for the conditions. Some greens had a few thinned out areas but were overall in great shape. Bunkers were nicely raked, bit firm due to the rainy conditions, and drainage in several of them needs attending to. Fairways were good and tee placement provided entirely different views on the second time around.
Overall, very nice walk in the park.
a tight jewell
enjoyed the course you must keep it in the middle of the fairway and they are narrow so if you can't do that then you are in for a long day
Good close course
The tees are only slightly different on some holes. Enjoyed it though as it was in good shape. perfect for walking 9 after work or something.
Great course for the money.
Was surprised by how challenging this course was. I loved getting a second chance at each hole.
challenge in the valley
there's several great things about this course that peak my interest. 1 is that it is a well thought out track.2 its well maintained. 3 it's down in the valley hidden away out of the wind
Nine or Eightteen
This is a City of Fort Worth golf course and it was my first play of this course, but easy to understand.
A good way to play 18 Holes with 2 set of tees and
the same 9 fairways and greens. Greens were fast
on this day and the varations of slops on the
greens were many.
Number 6 is being repaired on this date. Will play
again.
Great course
Obstacles were challenging. Clean and neat course.
