Great place
This course is very well kept. Staff is friendly and courteous.
Glen Garden
This nice course to play on. It had a good combination of easy and difficult holes which made it fun to play.
very small greens, old school
fu to play old style course with small greens, some very challenging par 3's, very slow play due to them letting 4 man scamble off in front of us
Cool to play a course with such history
Played the course where Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson caddied and honed their golfing skills as teen agers.
Many greens are small and elevated but will hold approach shots. Front 9 is par 37 and the back 9 is 34 with 2 very challenging par 3's.
Enjoyed the day!
my experience at glen garden country club
glen garden is a great course ,not only for your driving game ,but your short game as well, you will hve to be able to move the ball from right to left ,and from left to right
Good Value
The course fairways were all winter grass but the greens were fast. I played 18 holes in about 2 1/2 hours. The staff and ground crew were nice
Great course to play for practice rouinds. Tee shots and iron shots , great pratice
I love this course in east fort worth, well worth the green fees and course in great shape..
Always nice to play at Glen Garden.
Staff is always very friendly. Treat you like a member of the club. Glen Garden has great history. The greens are firm and the ball rolls well. A challenging and wide open course. Love to play there.
Reminds me of the old courses many years ago.
Love the history & that cart paths run out on several holes. This means you have less chance of ruining a ball when you miss a fairway...
Great course
Course condition was excellent for this time of year, grass green and well kept. However there was a tournament that was going out at the same time we were to tee off, so that made the pace a bit slow. Would be nice to know when booking on golf now that a tournament was set to tee off at the same time.
Seen Better Days
A combination of wide, rifle-shot fairways and ravined blind approaches, this golf course is a bit of a split personality: super easy vs. an occasional overly difficult hole. The greens are postage stamp -- really small with no stick. Both the fairways and the greens are in fair shape; the fairways are well grassed with few bare or thin spots.
I was a bit put off when checking in because the fellow behind the counter was on his cell phone talking to his fantasy football buddy while I and two others waited to be checked in. He seemed to notice that he had customers only after he concluded his rather lengthy personal phone call. Disappointing. I doubt if I'll be back.
Super sweet
Easy to follow and clean. Great challenge and great view.
Still a great course
This course has a lot of history and has had its ups and downs. it's up now and in great conditons. The greens, tee boxes, bunkers, and fairways are well maintained. I recommend it as a fun course.
Well maintained, friendly course until your approach shot to those small greens!
This is Byron Nelson stomping ground. That alone means you must play this course. The layout is friendly, but don't be fooled. The greens are small and fast. Almost every green is slightly raised, making it more difficult to bounce up or run up to the green. When dry, it is difficult to hold the greens and the putts are generally very fast. This course will test your accuracy (both line and distance) on almost every approach shot. There are 5 par threes but 2 of them are extremely challenging - one is 240 yards! After you have played the course a few times, your score will improve...and just maybe your game also. This course will help you/force you to get better!
Great value, good course.
Course was in very good shape. Not very long but the small greens make it a good test. Easy to get on and no problems with slow play. Good experience, would definitely return.
Great Historic Course, Go Play It
Grew up playing at this course in the 70s, its a little older but still plays great, lot of history at Glen Garden, Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson both learned to play here.
Good for the money
Played it for $24 on a Sunday afternoon. Good for the money, just be weary of shots coming in from other holes. 7/10 would recommend .
Challenging on first vist
Most fairways wide and in great shape, greens well watered
some very fast. Plenty of variation at each hole.
Laid back atmosphere with small greens
The course that I grew up on has small greens so I was not in total shock at the size of the greens. For the money it is a good course, but I would not travel too far for it.
Course is in very good shape.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens have been kept up all summer. New cart path paving has been ongoing.
