Nice little place to play
Old style course, greens are xx fast, decent condition for time of year, really fun course.
I will golf this course again. Bet it's nice in the spring.
This was my first time at Glen Garden. For a intermediate player, the course is a challenge on the greens more then the fairways. Can't wait to play again...
Great course for the golfer just starting out to the moderate golfer.
This is a course to play and have a great time playing golf. I love the par 3 set ups made it fun to play. Enjoy the small greens and they putted very nicely. One word of warning around the greens the lies were very tight so adjust your wedges this gave me the most trouble. Finished up shooting a 77 and had a blast doing it. Looking forward to playing it again very soon.
Solid Course and Great Deal
I play glen garden as a fall back course when short on time because it is the closet tract to my house. Always easy to get on and usually can get through 18 in less than 4 hours on the weekend. Fun and very historic tract and always good deals.
great traditional course
the greens were some of the smoothest around. don't let the short length fool you. with old school small greens this course is hard to score on. have to get up and down alot. has some quirky holes that make it memorable.
I really like playing this course
I just enjoy playing this course, the people are friendly and I like the sit up.
Sweet Track
I always play well here. In and out in 3 hours. Greens were in excellent condition.
Nostalgia. Course where Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead played tournaments.
Course was in very good shape. Greens were firm, fast and rolled true. There are several long tight fairways. If off fairways the trees are sparce and normally have a shot at green. A couple holes have Downtown Fort Worth in the back drop. Knowing Legends played there gives this course a unique aura!
Sadness
An overrated course with tiny greens.
The course is also located in a slum area.
Inconceivable that someone can put a higher rating than 2
This is a course with moderate difficulty level. Reasonbly well maintained
Cart pathways are pretty rough. Fairways and greens are in moderate conditions.
Wide open
Greens in great shape running about 11 stimp, fairways in good condition the sand was firm
Glen Garden is a Gem.
Simply an old course that has been restored and maintained. The turf was excellent and we really enjoyed the layout. Do yourself a favor and play this gem of a course.
Fantastic
I have known of this course for many years, as my Dad was a Member way back when, and my cousin whom came to visit had gotten married there. We enjoyed the people and course and I will be back there next week, bringing a client to play there. The Greens and fairways are so very nice, They do a great job of making green short grass, and its some of the prettiest I have seen this summer. I highly recommend my friends to play this course.
Sincerely,
Chris
Course is Great, Golf Now Booking not so much...
It is clear that the guys at Glen Garden do not really pay attention to online reservations or apparently honor the bookings or prices very well from Golf Now. The last time I showed up, because I was not "written on the daily calendar in pencil" they really had no idea I was coming, even though I booked 24 hours in advance.
I was then charged the "Senior Rate" of $23.00, which ended up costing me about $5 extra from what it should have been on golf now. Even though I could prove this with my iphone/email, I just paid it and didn't worry about it. Word to the wise, if you book on Golf Now, try to pay on the website and bring proof of payment, otherwise risk paying whatever they feel like charging. Also call ahead and ensure they have your reservation on a busy day.
With that being said, the guys were still friendly, the course is great and a lot of fun. If it's not crowded you can play super fast. If they can get in gear with online bookings and step into the 21st Century, this could become my new favorite course.
love this course
staff are very nice specially "i think his name is" jason - very helpful. the golf course is kept well and the layout is fun.
Challenging course
Besides the fact Hogan & Nelson began their golf careers as caddies at this club, teeing it up for the first time offers a unique experience. The course is not long but you must have a good short game if you expect to score well. The small greens are in excellent shape and they will reward you for a well executed shot. The course superintendent and maintenance crew do an excellent job with keeping the course playable throughout the year.
Greens sizes are fine, if you could actually hit an approach shot you wouldnt be complaining.
And for being in a slum ......stop hitting the ball OB then ya wouldn't have to go into the slum!! It's a great course just for its history!
