Typical public course
Lots of layup shots on short par 4s, Island greens that were tough to navigate, and many trees made this public course a relatively hard course for a mid-to high handicapper. It was what I expected as far as course beauty(not any) and also in pace of play(Tee times were jammed in). Not a terrible weekend course, may be back.
Great day to play!
2 of us tee’d off at 1:31, , course was not busy, warm, slight breeze out of the west. Played through 8 holes no waiting, tee box well used as usual, fairways groomed, greens had been seeded 2 weeks ago, very green, firm, receptive and they rolled true.. Slow playing foursome on 11, so we skipped that hole to be played later and connected with a father daughter twosome, daughter playing only, middle school kid with a 3 handicap, it was fun to watch her play. finished the round by 4:45. Overall great day on the course!
Staff makes the difference
Tanner and the Clubhouse staff are on point, friendly and helpful.
Busy, tougher public course
I’m a 9 handicap, first time playing this course. I found the course challenging, decent greens, crowded and slow play. Driving range is decent. Some of the holes are straight forward, others have small landing areas which are challenging for average golfers. For example, hole #10 is a challenging drive from tips for even a low handicap player with long water carry. Clubhouse looks like it was flooded or something, very bad. Mens room didn’t even have drywall! Finally, a couple of the cart paths cross water falls with no wall or retaining wall. The path has fast moving water and at one point I felt the cart hydroplane and thought we might actually slide into the reservoir! I found this very scary and found it hard to believe the course would put players in this position. Probably for that reason alone I’ll not return.
Needs major improvement
I played on a Sunday morning. The course was so wet from what I assume is their sprinklers. Muddy and soggy conditions. There wasn’t a single cart person to provide drinks or snacks. The tee boxes are uneven and beaten up. The course is not well maintained and entirely too wet to play in the morning. I would recommend going elsewhere or not starting your round until after 11am.
Great character
Fun course to play, have to hit some golf shots on many holes
What happened?
My son and a friend played 1 month ago, that friend played two weeks ago and said it was in good condition. Today it was not good. I know it’s been hot over the last two weeks, but yikes! Tee time was 7:25am, club house didn’t open until 7:05am. Greens had so much sand on them and were so slow and aerated, half of the sand bunkers I saw had no rakes. 10 out of 18 greens will be lost in the next few weeks if something drastic isn’t done. It’s too bad they’ve let this course get away because it could be a really fun, challenging course.
Play somewhere else
Tee boxes are rock solid, bring a hammer to get your tee in the ground.
Fairways, greens, boxes … course is a disaster. Poor grounds keeping, clubhouse is getting renovated, so don’t expect nice bathrooms.
Par 5 on the front has the green in under repair..plays like a long par 4, green is a sanded spot in center of fairway 2 putts max, it’s like the cheesy pitch and putts at the beach.
I uses to love the course always play the same, played from the whites, only 500 yard diff, between white and blue.
No yardage markers ANYWHERE, guess everyone is getting used to range finders, but I don’t use one, so it was hard to gauge distances.
Had a 2:39 Saturday afternoon my group wasn’t there, so I went alone, breezed thru 14 holes until I hit a snag, behind a single who was behind a walking single ..and had a hubby and wife duo on my heels, Marshall drove by, he should have paired us up..but he didn’t, what’s the point of having one?
Other than that, staff is friendly, finished the round in 3 hours flat, will never complain about that…
Won’t be playing here again at least not anytime soon, being in Frisco would figured they would make it like McKinney did westridge..but guess the money isn’t as long.
Hi Jeorge, thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that Tanner and our staff provided top-notch service. We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back soon!
