Tooth of the Dogpound Creek Golf Course
About
Tooth of the Dogpound Creek Golf Club sprawls across a scenic landscape that is also home to an abundance of wildlife that includes deer, ducks, and moose. The name is a play on its location in the valley of the Dogpound Creek. The course has a challenging design that utilized the natural features of the terrain. The layout flows along the gently rolling hills and incorporates the meandering creek that crosses the length of the golf course and the lakes and ponds that are sprinkled throughout. Tooth of the Dogpound Creek Golf Club begins with some challenging holes, the tricky part mainly being the small greens. After the first few holes the greens get bigger and more player friendly but be prepared for some elevated tees and greens that require careful course management.

A must try
Played for the first time. Lots of blind shots and corners. Many of the fairways are open and wide. In fact the course appears to be a bunch of wide open fairways on a farmer's field. That, however, is not the case because when you enter the forested portion shot placement becomes extremely more demanding. There are a few sand traps and some water crossings, which make play interesting and challenging. Bring lots of balls as errant shots are not easy to find. The club house is not all that special but the staff are friendly. This course has not been officially rated by the Alberta Golf Association and that is a mistake.
Only able to play 12 of 18, too cold with rain
Great value, but weather took turn for the worse. Great shape and even only playing 12 still felt got good value with a good Hot Tee Time deal. By time reached 13th the casual water was starting to get to be a bit much and was really regretting forgetting to bring dry socks to change into. Will be back to get my full 18 I hope before end of season.
Well cared for golf course in really nice condition
Very nice golf course peaceful once you're away from the clubhouse don't see other golfers that often as it is lots of trees and bush which make it private some of the dog leg holes are tricky until you know how to play them beautiful scenery specially from the elevated tee boxes and some of the greens sit proud which makes it more challenging for your chipping and pitching I really enjoy playing there and I will definitely be back
Great fun !
My cousin and I had a great time , our tee time was at noon and we had the course pretty much to ourselves,
Never rushed , and never had to wait to tee off .
V
Weather was great , golfing a nice flow and a lot
of fun.And we scored well.
Vicious rough
Great course just a quick hour nothwest of Calgary. Fairways and greens are in excellant shape. Most holes demand good ball placement on your drive both as setup for the second shot and because the rough is deep, thick and generally unplayable. Much less crowded than the city courses yielding a relaxed yet difficult round of golf.
Good value
Decent course but several holes need work too many blind tee shots on par 4's
Not bad for out in the country, but!
Had a little difficulty finding the course, directions could be better. It's east of Cremona.
Moderate club house but they have what you need, and the food is reasonable.
Getting around the course needs more directional signs, it was our first time playing this course and we went the wrong way several times. Frustrating.
16 is a 500+ par 4, ?.
My opinion, it's not worth the drive from south Calgary.
nice course
It is a nice golf course with some challenged holes. The view is beautiful and enjoyable.
Challenging
I like the course but a bit challenging. It is so peaceful and lovely scenery. I usually walk but this course you definitely need a cart especially if it is hot.
Great time
Had a great time playing. Lots of challenges. Great shape and quick greens.
Lousy Day
The pace of play was tortuous, after the fourth hole there were 4 groups on a par three. The only reason it went down to three groups after that, one of the groups in front of us quit after 12 holes. We quit after 14 holes, could no longer take the waiting in the rain. The Marshall did nothing to speed up play. Too many poor golfers packed too close together.
Nothing but fun
The course is clean & lots of natural terrain. The creek running through course will gladly take any golf balls you are wanting to get rid of. The first hole is the easiest.
Great valued course close to Calgary
Course was in excellent shape, very well groomed. Staff was friendly and the food was outstanding. Will definitely play again soon.
Nice country course
The course was in good shape and has the country feel to it where you never feel rushed but the pace for a Sunday wasn't bad
Crown or Elevated Greens
The greens were fast but you could not hold your approach shots the would land but run off the back,
Despite the rain and cold had a great time
The pace of play was excellent since it was only 8 degrees Celsius and raining. We still had a great time. The course is in great shape with the exception of a few greens which clearly need some work. They have added some trees along the first hole and done quite a bit of work to continuously upgrade the course. You can pay for 9 holes and play 12 which puts you back to the parking lot. Usually walk when playing 12 but ride for 18. Love the Tuesday specials and deals on Golf Now. Will definitely be back again.
Fun Place to go
It was a fun course to go...liked this place. Greens can be better.
Course great/greens a disaster
Love this course. Challenging, target golf on some holes and room to bomb it on others. Great value for the money, especially through Golf Now. I would have never discovered this course if not for seeing it on GN..
The greens must have been damaged over the winter because I dont remember them being like this last year. The majority had white dead patches all over them to varying degrees. Some were downright barren. My only complaint was that no one in the pro shop let anyone know. If the greens are damaged okay that is understandable, but the golfer is going to find out any way after two holes so why not be professional and let people know when they check in. So I can say that's okay I am just glad to be golfing and not at work. Great to see a large Moose on the course about 15 yards off the fairway wish I would have brought my camera.
Always a good excuse to get out of Calgary
I always enjoy going out to tooth of the dog pound. We were out this year earlier than ever before. Staff were extremely helpful and as always very accommodating.
Weather wasn't the greatest, but they have no control over that. The course was in very good shape for being open this early. The price for what you get is exceptional as always. I will be returning numerous times this year.
