Only Players on the course
A cold and blustery Texas day in April, temps around 35-40 degrees...Only 2 players on the course so we finished in just over 3.5 hours. Course has some quirky holes, but all in all a good layout. Greens are small, but receptive and rolling great. Round included a beverage as well, perk we had not expected. Danny was a gracious host and we enjoyed the day despite the weather. As spring comes on, this course will be primed to be played.
Don’t waste your money
No grass on the fairways. Weeds all over the greens. Trash all over the course. I can’t believe they are charging people full price for this place. Seems like they don’t even care about what’s happening. Shameful.
Greens with weeds
I’ve never played golf where the greens are essentially putt putt courses due to the weeds all over the greens. Several fairways with little to no grass. Place has taken a nosedive. Hope they’re able to turn it around.
Potential
The course layout is great. However, besides being extremely wet, it appears there is no good drainage and the landscaping is in pretty bad shape. its not well maintain. this site has potential to be on the top 10 in the dallas area.
Mud pit
Most tee boxes could pass as a poorly raked bunker, grass isn’t cared for. Range doesn’t look like it’s been used in years, they’ve let it become unusable. There were at least 4 Marshalls to keep pace of play, I wish they’d prioritize course conditions before pressing everyone to keep moving.
This course said okay features
This course was burnt out this course was burnt out the clubhouse was a steel container this course was that terrible condition it was like a cow pasture with with no grass this course is only worth $10 😞😞😕
Duck Creek
Staff puts the tee times 8 minutes apart and was already moving slow and running behind by 12:30. We spent the whole day waiting. Backed up on every hole. Didn’t get to finish the round. The bathrooms are portajohns and they are disgusting. The greens are not bad but the fairways are practically concrete dirt and sand. Not worth the money at all, we paid $36 and that was a HotDeal. I believe the normal rate is 50. Pretty disappointed.
Duck Creek
The course was in very poor condition. No grass on the tee boxes or fairways. I doesn’t appear to have been watered in a very long time. Greens were ok, course layout is great. The clubhouse burned down and has not been rebuilt.
Trashy Course
If you like playing on dirt, this course is for you. the fairways barely have grass on them...Same for the tee boxes. Some are just sand traps.. The greens are ok though.
Yikes
Idk what happened to the course but it has taken a turn for the worse…..you might as well play on concrete. Only grass is on the greens.
Budget golf
The corse needs grass and attention. Okay for winter warm-up golf.
Duck Creek
As a bargain course, I had a good time and will be back. This course needs a good face lift and some love shown to it. Current ownership needs to either make a major investment in this course to up date it, or possibly work with the city of Garland to take it over as a municipal course. As a municipal course it would offer golf, a tennis/pickleball courts, add a club house and pool which would be great for improving the neighborhood. I went on a day when I thought that there wouldn't be many people, and the course was busy all day. This is a great course for novice players and players of all levels.
Duck Creek
This is a course that is in the middle of and established community. Duck Creek does show its age, and needs a good overhaul and face-lift. That being said as a value course in the $25 range all in it would be fine, but not much more. The ownership needs to spend the money to bring it back to standard or maybe look at the city of Garland taking it over. As a municipal course it would have a good foundation to work with, it has golf, tennis, pickleball courts and would be good for the neighborhood. Becoming a municipal facility would probably be best, as it looks like the current owners have no plans of fixing problems.
As for play, they were extremely busy the day that I played. Fairways our forgiving for beginner and novice golfers such as my self, with plenty of hazards. Would I recommend this course yes, as a value course it isn't bad.
