The Club At Viniterra
About
Situated between Richmond and Williamsburg, the Club at Viniterra sprawls across abundantly wooded hills. There is no shortage of elevation changes on this Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead-designed golf course. There is a difference of as much as 70 feet from the tee to the green on most of the holes. When combined with the mature trees, the result is a tough layout that demands accuracy. Thankfully though, there are not many water hazards to contend with but there is strategically placed bunkering throughout. The golf course also provides a scenic round with working vineyards running alongside the lush fairways. In addition to being challenging, the Club at Viniterra prides itself on their environmentally sensitive practices. The golf course saves as much as 80 percent of the water used on traditional courses thanks to the use of a drought-resistant grass hybrid.

Whahoo
Enjoyed it all but place of play. Foursome in front would not let our 2 some thru They were slow. Wife played best round of summer. 78.
Viniterra is a must play
If you haven't played The Viniterra you should. It's in very good shape tee to green, Wide fairways. it has undulating greens. Greens are smooth. Pro Shop was very helpful and the starter-Mark gave me some tips on the green. I look forward to going back again soon.
Marshall
This is a beautiful course to play. I played August 2nd & 16 th and both times a Marshall would have been warranted. One golfer decided to relieve himself at the edge of the woods and it was to urinate. Another had some teenagers that were damaging the greens by leaving gouges
Locals: Please take care of this gem.
I lived in Richmond about 18 years ago and had played the majority of courses in the area. I had never heard of this one and the reviews looked good, so I thought I would give it a try. The course did not disappoint. It was amazing in all facets. The only negative I have is there were way too many un-repaired ball marks. I was told there was a tournament the day before and I see how that might have caused the problem. I moved from here to a much smaller city and would be so happy to have a course of this quality that I could play on a regular basis. Please fellow players, take the 5 seconds it takes to repair the ball marks and this course will be a top course in the area for years and years.
Pushy
Ranger pushed our foursome when nobody was behind us. We ended up having to wait on the last 7 holes.
Best course in the Richmond Williamsburg area. Maybe best in the State
This Rees Jones course is in perfect conditions and the greens are extremely fast. There are no tricked up pins. The course plays fairly from the chosen tees I am a senior playing Gold and I can usually hit my handicap number.
The fairways are wide. If you hit it out of the fairway you just hit a really bad shot. I really dont care to play anywhere else.
Wonderful experience
I’ve played this course many times over the years and it never disappoints. Minus the pitch marks that others don’t fix on the greens, it’s hard to find anything wrong here.
The course is excellent, the staff is top notch and the food is great!
Great conditions. Challenging layout
Really enjoyed playing Viniterra. Course was in great shape and the greens were rolling well. Tough layout with some elevation change and interesting pin locations. Not a lot of water on the course, but don’t be fooled, there are plenty of bunkers to make up for it!
Excellent layout and a very long course. Pace of play could have been quicker but for half the round we were cart path only which slowed down the pace of play. Overall a very nice golf course which I will play again in the future
Phenomenal Experience
Top 5 best public accessible golf courses I’ve ever played!
Great Course….But Poison Ivy Everywhere!
Great course but don’t wonder into the woods anywhere around this course. In many cases Poison Ivy was just a few feet off the cart path. Not much they can do other than warn the golfers…. My son was at Urgent care 24hrs after leaving the course with an out break…. Beware!!
Awesome course
Course is always in great shape. The staff is outstanding and I always recommend this course
Slow play
5 1/2 hour round, waited on every shot. Course needs to remind slow groups to keep moving. This course is tough enough without waiting on every shot. Otherwise a beautiful course and a friendly staff.
Recently Aerated
Always a nice layout and in good condition. Course was very recently aerated, which the staff did not tell me before the round.
