Course had wide fairways, but even some good shots you will be in a sand trap or trees blocking your next shot, greens were hard to judge the break, but over all had a very fun time. William
Nice course and community
Very nice course as you would expect for this Georgetown community. Pace was really slow.
Nice course, but beware of the shotgun starts
I didn't know it was a shotgun start.
Even though it was 103 degrees and my tee-time was 1430HRS...I got stuck behind several groups, and was waiting on every hole on the first 9 holes.
Fairways and greens in great shape
Enjoyed the course a lot. Wish my short game was better.
Bang for your buck
Great course. A lot of dog legs, so you need to have good course management. Lots of trees. Greens were about medium speed and rolled pretty true. Only negative is that on Monday's the snack/bar is closed & don't have a beverage cart on course. The cost was reasonable. Will play there again.
First Impressions
Putting green is closed. No on course refreshments cart. Bring your own beverages. Water is available on some tee boxes.
Greens are in excellent condition. Layout of course is first rate. Not all sprinkler heads have yardages on them. Buy a yardage book at the pro shop.
Challenging course. Looking forward to playing it again.
It was fun
An enjoyable round of golf always seems to start out with a friendly and welcoming staff, and that is exactly what I received. The golf shop was polite, accommodating and seemed pleased I was there to play the course. She explained where the range was located, when she would call my group to the tee and the expected pace of play. The course was in good condition, well laid out and from the back was a good challenge. I will definitely play there again.
Nice time, good track.
Putting green was under construction, but looked like work had stopped.
Pace was slow, a group let us play through, but remained slow.
After the turn, course was open, as the others just played 9 holes and pace was good.
Tee boxes needed water, rest of course was "Texas in July", greens were good.
For the price you can't beat the Sun City courses
The greens were bumpy but were just coming back from aeration. Not a big deal. The practice facilities are great. You get balls with your tee time. They don't gouge you for $6 a bucket like most courses around Central Texas. Pace of play when I go is really quick. I usually go after work (I know it's the hottest time) at about 5:30. Even early in the morning through Golfnow or Teeoff you can get tee times for $45. That beats Teravista, Star Ranch, and Avery Ranch who charge upwards to $70.
Legacy Hills
Pro's -
byob, ice provided
Course was in pretty good shape
When it gets over 95 degrees the pace of play is great
Con's -
Greens were punched a week or two ago and were pretty slow
I called before I made the tee time and was told they had not been punched and that they "were in great shape"
Bunkers were hit or miss - the couple I was in had way too much sand
Great course
Beautiful layout, excellent fairways n greens. Will play it again & highly recommend it.
Great Day to Play
A fun and challenging course to play. I will definitely be back to play this course again.
Shotgun
When I purchased my tee time there was nothing in it about being a shotgun start, intern it took over six hours to play this round kind of ridiculous for a course that can be played in 3 1/2
Visitor from the North
This course needs work. Sand in traps uneven. Greens not consistent and fairways very thin, with many hard bare lies. No amenities offered on the course other than pop machines in two locations. I was disappointed overall, but maybe it was the time of the year (March).
Not again
While we enjoy playing this course, be extra careful using golfnow to make tee time... twice now we have been had... this latest was we were inserted into a tournament - as a "b" group on a hole in the middle of the course.... 5.5hours later!
It's now June and course conditions haven't improved much. Lots of bare earth, thin grass, ground under repair mark-offs including on greens plus there should be lots of other ground under repair markings.
