White Hawk Country Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf, which are divided into four different nines. The Grey Hawk and Black Hawk nines came first, followed by the Red Hawk and finally the Silver Hawk. The Silver Hawk nine is the longest of the four and it is also widely known as the toughest. The golf course incorporates a variety of landscapes from mature woodlands to pristine wetlands. Water has a prominent presence with seven large lakes and a few meandering creeks sprinkled throughout. You'll find that water hazards come into play on what seems like every hole. In addition to the water, the fairways are lined with trees and the green complexes have challenging ridges, tiers, and swales. It's easy to see how White Hawk is ranked as one of the top 10 toughest golf courses in the state.

Fast Greens

Great course a little bit on the pricey side. Great staff and super fast greens even after it rained.

True greens. Bad bunkers

The greens are fast but receptive. Bunkers need attention. Different types of sand on almost every hole.

This course was great tee to green.

Played the Silver & Black courses and they were outstanding. The course was in great shape with big fast greens. Can't wait to play the Grey & Red courses.

Challeging but Fun

The course was fairly well maintained for being early in the year. The greens had recently been arrated, so they were bumpy, but they were fast and fairly true otherwise. From the tips this course is long and when it's wet and windy it's even longer. I am a scratch golfer and struggled to shoot par. Tough but like I said before, it's enjoyable.

First Time Playing

Great course, especially if you're looking for a challenge!

First time playing this course I was taken back by the up keep of the course. Fairways are like carpet, greens are perfect! unfortunately I have a high handicap, but been improving over the last year and a half. Well this course is not forgiving at all! You might hit what appears a nice drive and never find your ball due to hazards EVERYWHERE! Lots of holes you need to carry over water and/or tall weeds. You will need to lay up on a few holes, I played somewhat agressive and lost a bunch of balls. Fairways are narrow and greens are surrounded by bunkers and/or hazards where if you hit one long your not finding it. Definitely a challenge no matter how good you are.

Played Black/Silver - which came to find out during our round is the more difficult of the group. Course is setup with four 9 hole courses and they mix it up to keep you playing something different every time.

First Time Playing

Worth the drive, play 36 holes and call ahead for course conditions.

For those of you not familiar with White Hawk, there are 4 nine hole course; Red, Black, Grey and Silver. They apparently mix and match 2 of them every day to give two distinct sets of 18 holes. I played 36 holes and each set of 9s when I went. Personally, I liked the Black and the Grey the best.

My understanding is that the Silver course is the newest. I found it the most challenging and many of the holes for this 9 are set up for target golf. There are many forced carries from the tee box and a few from the fairway across waste-lands. There is also a lot of water on this 9. If you are a grinder like me and only going to play 18 holes, this is the one you should put at the bottom of your list to play.

With respect to the other sets of 9s, many holes on all courses have houses next to the course. Although I did not play the tips on any of the courses, I noticed that playing them on Grey and Silver could be additionally challenging with long forced carries and narrow passages to get your ball through.

The greens were fast, but not slick and in good shape. They rolled pretty true. Fairways were in excellent condition. Only beef I had with the sand traps were a few on the Silver course had standing water.

Really nice people that work there and were helpful with getting around. The nice thing about going midweek was that the staff would send you to the 9 that had the least amount of people on it.

The food at the grill was good and you got a lot for what you paid for.

My recommendation is to make a day of it and come down and play 36 holes and have lunch in between your rounds. You will want to call ahead for the next week or so because I was told that they are going to aerate everything.
