Club de Golf de Panama
Played this great private club in Oct 2019.
Had my hotel call up the club and they secured myself a tee time. Even though it is a private club they do allow some outside play.
Great hilly course. all staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
A must play if you are in Panama City
Historic course a work in progress
What a treat it was to see such an influential private club in Panama. The course, a long-time host of Panama's Web.com event, was a work in progress during my visit. A master plan devised by Ray Hearn was commissioned for two reasons: To move and hold water more effectively during Panama's soggy rainy season and to add some teeth to a few holes for the tournament. New back tees are being built for today's power game.
The day started with a tour of the club's Hall of Fame in the clubhouse, a home to historic photos and trophies. So many great players have competed at the club, either at its current site or its original one ... Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and more.
The course itself offers great rolling topography. Holes twist and turn through the forest, especially on the more serene and secluded back nine. It's a must play if business or pleasure brings you to Panama City.
