Play it several times a year when in MD. Course is struggling for maintenance funds as it is slipping away from superb jewel former status to a just OK place to play over past 15 yrs. Great bones and setup for the course, needs some long term $$$ TLC.
Greens great shape and fast, most fairways clean from winter debris, course is in spring wakeup mode.
winter golf
I had an Exotic round. Golfing at a surrounding snow was very rare. It would remain in my memory forever.
I like to play a full round of golf. I was not told we would be chased off of the course due to the carts needing to be back at the clubhouse by 5:00. It was light until 6:00-6:15 and it was warm. We could have easily enjoyed the last 3-4 holes but the staff scolded us for being out there at 5:10…. And again, that was with not one previous mention of the deadline. I would not have booked the 1:45 Tee time if I would have known.
Golf now let me down
Booked online get to the course to find out it’s closed golf now needs to do better with communication with the course
Great layout decent condition great value
Played on Friday mid morning. The layout is quite challenging with undulating greens, tree-lined fairways, and meaningful ups and downs. The meilting snow and rain previous night made the course very wet. The greens are on the slow side understandably, some spots on the course are too wet to play, and bunkers are too packed to play fairly, but overall course condition is much better than we expected. Some tee boxes need more work to remove bald spots, and cart path potholes need patches. The clubhouse is well maintained, and the food choices are decent. Staff is very friendly, and pace is good for our round. Overall a great experience,, highly recommended.
Good course !
Everything is good but watering too much at fairway !
Great course, especially for late December
Course was in very good condition, especially for late December. Recent rains made for several wet spots and required cart path only. Still, it was fun to be out there and I look forward to playing there again in warmer, dryer weather.
Nice layout
Course conditions are fair at best. New management. Needs to be more concerned with the general public not members or owners of course
Solid course
Second time playing course is in good shape for December, love the variety in tees and layout of the course. Never tried any of the other amenities- that’s why the one star
Great Value!
Richland is an interesting layout, with some challenging driving holes. It is a good mix of playable shortish par 4's, reachable par 5's and long and shorter par 3's. Fairways and greens were is very good conditions considering the early December round. Got a great deal ($30), but it is certainly worth more!
Still going downhill.
I honestly try to avoid this course anymore. Friends book tee times, which is the only reason I go.
Facilities are dirty and not well maintained (including clubhouse restrooms.). Range mats are trashed. Range itself is an eyesore. Bunkers are never maintained. Grass is not mowed often enough and is left laying all over the fairways. Some tee boxes are 100% weeds. No beverage cart even on weekends. Its like they don't even care.
And for $83. Would recommend nearby Musket Ridge or Maryland National for slightly extra cost and vastly better conditions and facilities.
The greens still roll nicely though.
It’s really a shame. The facility used to awesome before ownership changes. If the orice keeps going up without improving the experience, it will soon be out if business. Can play equal courses for $50 or less.
Actually not tons of traffic on a Saturday. I think word has gotten out that its not a good experience for the price.
